Fabulous Fun on a String Card

Hello Spellbinders fans! Linda here sharing a fun card – it is a ‘party waiting for somewhere to happen’ and just makes me smile. I do love a party and these new Party Dies are fabulous! I am excited to share my card I created using Fun on a String die set. Everyone loves balloons, even as adults, they are always festive and set the scene for any event.

Sanding Block; Liquid Glue



  1. Cut patterned card base 4 x 12″
  2. Score at ¾”, 1½”, 4″, 6½” and 9¾”. Mountain Fold and Valley Folds the score lines.
  3. Cut white cardstock rectangles slightly smaller than each fold front.
  4. Add coloured cardstock rectangles that are cut slightly smaller than the white cardstock rectangles – as shown above.


  1. Cut/emboss coloured cardstock using Pierced Squares Dies #3 and #4 (#1 being the smallest size die)
  2. Cut/emboss Whirl White cardstock using Pierced Squares Dies #1 and #2.
  3. Cut/emboss Bordered Sentiments Happy, Birthday and To You Dies, using coloured cardstock. Adhere Birthday and To You die cuts to the top of the first two steps using liquid glue.
  4. Cut/emboss yellow cardstock using the Die of your choice from Embellish It die set. Adhere to the first step front.


  1. Lightly sand the embossed edges using a sanding block and adhere white square onto the yellow base using double sided tape
  2. Cut/emboss Fun On A String Balloon 2 Die (Outlined Balloons) four times using DVCW foil cardstock and two times from teal cardstock Cut/emboss Fun On A String Balloon 2 Border Die (Solid Base) twice each in yellow, pink and blue. Assemble the balloons together and adhere.
  3. Layer the balloon die cuts by crossing its strings and popping up each one with a 3D Foam Square
  4. Cut/emboss Fun On A String Bow Die in pink cardstock and adhere to the lower area of the strings, using liquid glue.
  5. Adhere a yellow rhinestone to the centre of bow die cut and attach to the layered Pierced Squares
  6. Adhere layered Pierced Squares to the top step of the card using double sided tape
  7. Adhere the Happy sentiment to the base of the Pierced Squares using liquid glue.
