Hello everyone, Yana is here sharing another card making video. Today I’d like to encourage you to dress up your die cuts using glitter. I love to create glitter die cuts to use on my projects, however if I am able to die cut the glitter paper I find the glitter to shed a bit and leave a mess; and if I use high quality glitter papers it’s almost impossible to die cut them, so I’m inviting you to create your own no-shed glitter papers for your die cuts in this blog post.
I have found that the best way to do this is by using glitter embossing powders. I like to first die cut my shapes out and then apply embossing powder with a mix of glitter on top. This way I can be sure my glitter will not come off the die cut shape and will stay there. By glittering the shape after I’ve die cut it I can also minimize the use of embossing powder and make sure I’m not wasting any.
I also love to use my dies to create masks to help me build backgrounds for my projects. Watch my video tutorial below to learn how you can easily use your simple shape Spellbinders dies to create masks for your next card.
