Licensed and In-House Designer for Spellbinders Creative Arts Debi Adams Profile JAN17

Describe {Debi Adams} in three words.

An eclectic artist

What were some influences that helped shape the collection?

Well for sure I’m seeing more people, particularly millennials, embracing a healthier lifestyle. They tend to be minimalists as well so I aimed for that audience and made this collection very clean and simple. On a personal level, I’m drawn to print illustration so I think these fit that criteria. This collection is particularly unique because nearly all of the fruits and vegetables can be made into another fruit or vegetable, making these sets very versatile.

Where is your favorite place to create or get inspired?

Almost always, home. Sometimes when I need to get away I just go shopping and that usually clears my mind enough to start the creative juices flowing again. OK, and let’s be honest, what girl doesn’t mind doing a little retail therapy? Oh and hey, inspiration is everywhere. Just take a walk. You would be surprised at what you can discover even on the ground!

What are your favorite, ‘must have’ pieces in your upcoming collection?

The grocery bag is one of my favorites because all the produce fits inside. The fruit and vegetables are the “tags” so to speak. And as to my favorite fruit or vegetable, hmmm, I sure love that radish.
