Paper Marbling with FSJ Silks – Photo Tutorial

We love creating with our Arizona Trail Stamp & Die Set. Today, we’ll use it to show you a unique way to create a colorful background.

Take a look at this background. When you first look, you may think it’s created with watercolor. It’s actually FSJ Silks! Let’s create this super cute project together.

Step 1: Grab a Media Tray. Remove the dividers and fill the tray with water. Then choose your four favorite Silks.

Step 2: Splash in your silk. We used Sour Lemon, Cool Pool, Cosmic Grape and Citrus Cooler.

Step 3: Dip a Color Splash Sheet into the color mixture. You can continue to re-mix and re-apply the mixture to your sheet until you receive the look desired. For this type of technique – no one card will look the same. Your colors will mix together differently every time giving you a truly unique project.

Step 4: Finish assembling your project.

Depending on the colors you choose, you could use this technique to create a sunrise, a beautiful sky of blues, an underwater scene or simply an abstract background in your favorite colors. We’d love to see what YOU create with this marbling technique. When you share your work on social media, be sure to tag us so we can enjoy your creative projects!
