Warm and Cozy Cards and Crafts for Fall
We’ve shown you so many cool mixed media tips and tricks here on the blog lately. However, we know some mixed media newbies may find it difficult to get starting. Stir your creativity with a simple cute card as we work our way up to a mixed media decor project. Let’s craft while celebrating the start of Fall.
Pumpkin Kisses
First, take a look through the Journey Holidays Trends Mini Catalog and select your favorite stamp set. We chose the Pumpkin Kisses Stamp Set.
Create a cute window with a Journey Circle Die. Stamp your sentiment in this middle of the panel and give it a splash of Journey Gold Silk. Then die cut a Journey Circle from a Pineapple Smoothie Cardstock and place it over the Butter Cream panel. Decorate the rest of your card with images from the Pumpkin Kisses Stamp Set and a few accents.
Now that you’ve got a little crafting taste, are you ready to be daring?
Keep gathering your favorites from the Holiday Mini. Have you seen our Scenic Trays shadow boxes? These are just calling for mixed media crafters to paint and play. They arrive in regular boring cardboard brown begging you to give them color. Let’s do it.
First, cover the entire Scenic Tray with Journey Gesso using a Square Paint Brush to give it texture. Then grab Clear Pigment Ink and your favorite stencil. Apply Clear Pigment to the inside of the try and the sides with a Fusion Ink Sponge using the stencil as a tracer. Now give it color. Brush the Lemon Drop and Citrus Cooler PanPastels from the Party Pop PanPastels palette over your tray. Reapply Clear Pigment and then more PanPastels as needed.
Embellish your tray with a decorate Spruced Up accent wreath. Before you hot glue in your wreath, decorate it. Use a hot glue gun to adhere stamped leaves and a few Fashion Gold accents and a Décor Bloom. You can even wrap it with the adorable Pumpkin Patch Ribbon – it’s one of our new favorites from this Trends Mini.
Add a stamped and embossed sentiment to the center of your wreath.
Almost ready! Your Scenic Tray comes with a small metal ring on top perfect for a ribbon or string. Tie another strand of our favorite Pumpkin Patch Ribbon to the top of your tray.
