Card Making Challenge! Take Three – Debi Adams
Hello Spellbinders’ fans! Thank you so much for joining us this week as we host our first Card Making Challenge! We asked a few of our designers and spellbloggers to share their take on one of our cards kits – December 2016 Card Kit of the Month and we are excited to show you what they all made!
Join us today and during the next few days as we share projects from Tammy Tutterow, Stephanie Low & Sharyn Sowell, Debi Adams and Jennifer Snyder.
Hi everybody! This is Debi Adams, Creative & Licensed Designer at Spellbinders. As you know by now, this week we are showcasing the different projects you can make from our December Card Kit of the Month. Honestly, I love trying to find new ways to make unique cards from these fun embellishments. The possibilities are endless.
Project Details – Love
This elegant card was created by incorporating gold paper into the design. I cut out butterflies from the blue paper and placed the negative images on top of the gold paper and adhered it using foam dots to the card base. I then went back in and adhered the butterflies and added the sentiment.
Project Details – Free Spirit
Free Spirit is a clustering of several embellishments with some touches of gold. Not nearly as elegant as the first card but very trendy nonetheless. It also shows a great way to use up those scrap pieces of paper!
Project Details – Happy
This “happy” card incorporates the tag and flowers from my kit.
Project Details – Deer
Here I created included the deer head into the card. The ribbon added a feminine touch. Whenever making a card, I always have a background, a main feature and a sentiment. All of this is covered in this card.
Project Details – Be Brave
Although I could have created a card with more of the embellishments in the kit, I wanted to show you how easy it is to add other outside dies to the base. The bear and pennant are from my Bear Scout die set.
Project Details – Avocado Love
And here I added another outside die set of mine – The Pearfect Avocado. I think this kit lends itself to many other complimentary dies. I have to say I am in love with the leaf die. Did you notice that I created a background with the leaves, added the main feature, namely the flowers, butterfly and pear, and finished it off with a sentiment? All three card making basics were incorporated.
Well, what do you think? Enough ideas? I hope you will try your hand at making with this kit. I’m certain you can create a variety of cards for many occasions with just a little creativity. Here’s a shot of all the cards I made this week.
