Spooky Halloween Cards
Halloween is just around the corner, so it’s a good idea to create some cards for Halloween Party or just to have a few on hand to give to friends on this day.
I like when my cards don’t look too dramatically dark, and though Halloween is all about the black and orange colors, I decided to add some festive accents to my projects using gold and champagne glittered cardstock.
For my first card I used the Spooky Tree die and I cut it out from champagne glitter cardstock and hid it by the Tree’ n Web piece cut out of black. I wanted to create a kind of landscape for my background.
I also die-cut out one more Spooky Tree from the same glitter cardstock and foam mounted it on the top of it.
I’ve added grey ribbon and a bow on the edge and placed my sentiment – Spooky. Since I used black cardstock for the sentiment and I didn’t want the “S” to be hidden on the black tree, I cut out one more Spooky word from the gold cardstock, and used only one “S”.
I also die-cut bats from gold cardstock and placed in between the tree branches. To help bat die cuts stand out I cut 2 more pieces out of black cardstock and layered the gold die cut on top offsetting slightly as if to create a black frame around it.
For my second card I also die-cut the cat from the Kitty Cats set, that I topped on a piece of gold glitter cardstock.
So it was quite easy to keep the black and orange colors and all the elements together.
