Elegant Black & White Card Designs
We love giving you tons of inspiration. Here at the Journey Station we like to play with different color schemes or layouts to feed your creativity. Today, we are creating stunning pieces with a simple black and white contrast. Take a look and vote on your favorite card.
Birthday Melody
It’s easy to create a gorgeous piece with just a few crafting supplies. We created a background with strips of Black Licorice Cardstock over a Whip Cream panel.
Then you can use a Journey Circle die cut to pop up your stamped image. You’ll notice, we gave this Bird Melody image layers for a life-like look. The branch is stamped flat on the Journey Circle. Then we used the coordinating Bird Melody Die Set to pop up the image on top of the branch. This image, simply stamped in Black Licorice Ink, is stunning on its own.
Add a simple embellishment, like a Black Licorice Gingham Ribbon, to complete your project.

Hello
Keep crafting! This time, let’s add a subtle touch of color. Give your Beauty Blooms images a Lavender Fusion accent with Journey Color Splash watercolor pencils and a Rainbow Drop in the middle.
These Beauty Blooms look cool against a Journey Ovals background. With just a black and white card, you’ll want to make sure your ovals stand out. Die cut the Journey Ovals and rub a Black Licorice Ink Pad along the edges for a pronounced outline. Then assemble the ovals in a nested order and adhere to your cardstock.

The Hello Card above used a subtle color accent. You can also use a slight touch of color as a spotlight.
Make A Wish
The Beach Breeze color really catches your eye against the black and white contrast!
Create a textured background by embossing strips of Black Licorice Cardstock. Add you stamped image in Black Licorice on Whip Cream Cardstock to continue with this color theme.
Now give it that wow effect with the light and bright color. A few Blue Skies Journey Sequins and a small strand of Beach Breeze Journey Thread will really have an impact on this layout.

Birthday Melody is my favorite of the three but they are all great and have given me some inspiration for my own cards.

I love the Make a Wish!

The HELLO card is the most interesting I think. Most everything I do is with solid lines so seeing flowers with the broken line outline really appeals to me. Also the leaves are a perfect compliment to those flowers. The simple oval background adds a nice touch. Not overbearing so it doesn’t take over the whole card.
That being said, all three cards are inspirational.
