Welcome to “The Breakfast Club” Stamps and Dies

Hello there friends! I’m Debi Adams and I am so excited to introduce a small piece of my new stamp and die line called “Love, Set, Match”. Included in this latest collection is “The Breakfast Club”, a grouping of puny sentiments and dies intended to get the morning off to a good start. Before I showcase the two projects I created, I would love to tell you the story of how this line came to be.

Every collection is a research project for me where I try to find out what is hip and trendy or something that Spellbinders doesn’t have in their warehouse. Inspired by all the trendy patches and pins I saw out in stores and online, I began drawing items I thought would fit along those lines, remembering to keep it clean and simple so that everyone could create with them. In addition to the art, I added playful puns to fit the designs. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

“Love, Set, Match” has a box and a book that work with nearly every stamp and die in the collection, and therefore, named accordingly. Today I will show you how “The Breakfast Club”  works together with the Match Box and Match Book. We will cut out all the parts and pieces first and then go from there.

 The Embellishments

If you are making both the box and the book, you will need to double the embellishment steps. Here are the dies that have been cut out.

There are several choices of sentiments in this collection. Choose two for these two particular projects.

Die-cut the egg white and bacon from card stock and the toast from poly foam. Stamp and die-cut the yolk from card stock. Stamp two different sentiments on to two, rectangular-pieces of card stock making sure the rectangular pieces fit onto the front cover and inside of the matchbook/box. I colored all the images with markers and colored pencils. Using the Tool ‘n One with the foam applicator and yellow or orange ink, I brushed the color onto the yolk to give it some warmth. To create a crust on the “toast”, brush brown ink on the edge of the foam bread using the Tool ‘n One with foam applicator as well. Add “bacon fat”  lines with a white pen. Set aside the pieces and we will assemble the box and book then attach the embellishments.

The Box and Book

Die- cut the Matchbox and Matchbook from patterned paper. For the Matchbox, you will need two (2) pieces die-cut for the top part of the box.

Make sure the pattern in the paper is going in the same direction for both pieces if you have chosen printed paper with a directional pattern.

Assembly for the Matchbook:

Insert a blank piece of card stock inside the matchbook to serve as a message area and secure paper inside small flap with a staple located in the center, slightly closer to the bottom of the book.

Check to make sure that the book flap can tuck inside the small flap where the staple is going before stapling.

Close lid to matchbook and embellish cover as indicated, using pop dots to raise some images.

It should look like this:

Fold up the sides on the bottom of the Matchbox and secure in place.

Cut a rectangle from black card stock, smaller than the top of the box. Adhere black card stock to top of box. Embellish top of box with egg, yolk, bacon and toast. Add details with white pen. Insert sentiment into box. Slide bottom of box into top of box.

Ok, so tell me you smiled, just a little? Wouldn’t these make the cutest little “welcome to breakfast” favor? How about something to sneak into the lunch box? It doesn’t take a lot of time or supplies.
