Floral Cards with Die D-Lites
Hello, this is Elena and I am excited to be back sharing a few cards I have made recently.
I adore Fall and not only orange, yellow and pumpkin colors appear in my mind when I think about Autumn time. I think that deep olive, fuchsia, any shades of purple – rich colors are great this season too. So it’s a good chance to color our life too.
I made a couple of cards using Daisies from the Flower Power set. It was fun to die cut flowers from textured cardstock of different colors. Usually I make plenty of them in advance, and more than I need for the current project, I like to have such kind of die cuts by hand for my future projects.
So I started by arranging the flower clusters around the frame that I made using Anabelle’s Trousseau Layering Frame die. I used pearlescent gold cardstock for my frame.
I also used the leaves from the Daisy set as well as added the vines from the Plants set.
I mixed 2 colors for my leaves – celery and deep olive, and I like this color combo.
I made a watercolor background for my cards, nothing complicated, I only dropped a few colors on a wet watercolor paper. It’s easy to do, and always look nice.
While arranging the flower clusters – always start with the largest flower you have. It’s easier to add more layers or flowers around and underneath it, or even on top.
To finish my cards I stamped sentiment within the frame on one card, and heat embossed the sentiment on a piece of gold cardstock for the second one.
I hope you have liked my cards and that you give it a try too.
