Chantilly Paper Lace Inspiration | Elegant Floral Cards with Melissa. Part 3
Hi! Melissa Phillips here with you again today, sharing a couple of extra Chantilly Paper Lace cards! Catch my previous posts sharing inspiration with this collection here and here. With February and Valentine’s Day right around the corner, I wanted to create some handmade love notes using my Spellbinders supplies.
I love red and pink together for this fun time of year and normally, when I sit down to create Valentine’s card, they are somewhat casual and playful. The Coraline’s Chemise Layering Large Frame Die is the perfect way to dress up a Valentine card and take it to the next level.
The details of the Coraline’s Chemise Die are so beautiful and remind me of an old fashioned, scalloped table cloth, so I just used a portion of the bottom layer and have it peeking out from beneath some patterned paper and other dies. I used dark grey cardstock to cut the center section from the Coraline’s Chemise Layering dies and love the delicate but bold pop it adds.
I also used the Lilly Pearl Flat Fold Flower/Border Dies along with pink glittered cardstock and used it as a border across the front of my card. Lastly, I stamped my sentiment on a die cut Vintage Pierced Banner and layered it over the top. I love the multiple layers and depth these beautiful dies create. They’re so much fun to combine together!
My next card uses the sweet Hannah Elise Layering Small Frame along with more pink glittered cardstock and pops of dark grey. The Chantilly Paper Lace dies look so striking and bold cut from dark cardstock.
I actually used the Hannah Elise die three times, layering the pink glittered cardstock layer over the dark grey cardstock layer, and then both of these over a white glittered cardstock layer. I die cut the center oval from the top layer, allowing the dark grey layer to show through.
I then stamped my sentiment on a die cut Vintage Pierced Banner once again, this time choosing a differing shape, and added a small border across the bottom using dark grey cardstock and the Lilly Pearl Flat Fold Flower/Border Die.
