Tiny Shadow Box Portraits
A teeny tiny box is the perfect way to show off little things. In this case, a silhouette portrait of a pair of darling children.
This is a very simple project that just takes a bit of patience, so relax with a friend and let’s craft together!
You’ll be using the Tiny Shadow Box die from my Flower Garden collection and the Swallow and Heart dies from my Joyous Celebration collection for the little matching gift card.
Cut the Tiny Shadow box and frame, fold the tabs, and glue. Add a bit of decorative paper at the back of the box if you like. Then use a few of your treasured hoard of pretty paper scraps to cut out an assortment of flowers.
You can tuck a wee circus animal or a tiny matchbox car inside. Or use the banner from the Swallow and Heart dies to write a name and use as a place card. Or do as I did and cut a silhouette! I snipped mine freehand, but you can also take a photo that is sized to fit and simply trace around the face. Paperclip the tracing paper onto a sheet of text weight black paper and cut it out.
Now glue your portrait to the frame, go wild decorating with flowers, glitter, ribbon and whatever else you like.
If you’re making a darling gift card to match, simply cut out the pieces of the Swallow and Heart dies, glue together and decorate.

I have never had a Spellbinders die that disappointed me. Not only can you count on them to have dies you wouldn’t find anywhere else, (the traffic light), their customer service is outstanding. We have had, and I look forward to, a long, mutually satisfying partnership.

So glad you’re enjoying it, Beverly. Fast and easy projects are my favorites when they’re as pretty as this one.
