Good Vibes Only Inspiration | Watercolor Florals with Rubeena
Hi, crafty friends! This is Rubeena from A Rare Ruby, and I’m so excited to be a guest on the Spellbinders Blog today. This post is part of a series featuring the Good Vibes Only Collection by Stephanie Low! You can find my first two posts here and here.
For my first card, I used Rosy Summer Flowers Dies. I die-cut the both dies from watercolor paper and then watercolored them loosely with my Daniel Smith Ultra Fine Watercolors. I wanted to use a non-traditional color for the leaves so I used a dark blue shade.
For the background, I did a light wash of gray watercolor on watercolor cardstock and once it dried, I stamped the sentiment in a dark blue ink. I glued the piece to my white card base and then mounted the floral images on top.
For my second card, I used my Mijello Mission Gold watercolors with the Lovely Lilac Dies. I die-cut both dies from watercolor cardstock and watercolored them, but I added some smaller details with a fine watercolor brush. For the card base, I decided to add a partial piece of black cardstock and added in lines with a black pen. I stamped the sentiment in the center and then mounted the floral pieces in the bottom corner.
Both cards have a clean and simple look. These floral die-cuts are very versatile, and I showed some basic ways you can color and design the cards.

LOVE these cards. The second one is my favorite. Just something about the design that is so clean and simple, but really pretty!

I LOVE the look of the dark leaves! I’m way too timid to try non-traditional colors, but must stretch my limits as I really like it. I also love the darker watercolored outline against the watercolored background… absolutely beautiful!

The style of the second card really defines what the die can do. Beautiful cards. Well done.
