FSJ Color Burst Colored Pencil Tutorial
We live for Fridays! Not just because it’s the start of the weekend (hooray!) but because it brings us one of our favorite things, Try Day Friday!
Are you familiar with Try Day Friday? Every Friday afternoon on our Facebook page, we create something new LIVE on our page. We share exactly how to do a fun technique and it’s so cool to see it in real time. Besides, who doesn’t love learning how to do something new?
This week, we’re looking at coloring techniques with the FSJ Color Burst Pencils. They are gorgeous and oh so fun — but do you really know how to get the most out of them?
One tip shared in the video is to start with a light hand and use super light layers. This way, you can vary the intensity of the color. You can simply build upon the color to create a darker hue. You can see that best on the Kayak (with the light aqua color) from our Adventure Awaits Stamp Set — where there are lighter and darker variations of the same color.
Another fun technique is to add a darker color, lightly, over top of the lighter color. Then, you can use your Color Burst Blenders to create the smoothest tone and really make the colors look so natural! Just absolutely stunning, that is for sure!

This is one of my favorite stamps set. I love how rich the colors you get from our Color Burst Pencils.
