Little Loves Inspiration | Silhouette Cards with Susie
Hi Everyone! I’m Susie Lessard and I am delighted to be a guest blogger here on the Spellbinders blog. Over the next few days, I will be sharing cards created using the beautiful silhouette dies from the Little Loves Collection by Sharyn Sowell. Charming and reminiscent of childhood, this collection of dies will allow you to create keepsake cards and projects that will last for years to come.
My first card illustrates baby’s first adventure. Set in a garden we are reminded of the tender moments seen through baby’s eyes. Patterned paper and layering are a lovely way to frame a focal point. I assembled several dies to achieve that delightful effect we all love. Both Spellbinders A2 Matting Basics A and Arched Windows One (discontinued) provide a beginning and a frame for the intricate silhouette die, First Adventure. Another way to add charm is by adding matching paper ephemera, stamped images, or cutting out images from your paper choice that compliments the design. I’ve added some stamped images that I colored with Polychromous colored pencils with dimensional adhesives to finish the card.
My next card is prefect for a formal baby card. Spellbinders A2 Devine Eloquence, edged in gold leaf pen frames, Baby’s Garden. The angelic silhouette is washed with watercolor and layered on top of layers of ivory linen paper. Tiny baby blue ribbon and flat pearls complete this sweet offering.
Perfectly paired with patterned paper and techniques, the Little Loves Collection of dies appeal to the maternal heart of any papercrafter.
