Little Loves Inspiration | Away We Go with Rubeena
Hi, crafty friends! This is Rubeena from A Rare Ruby, and I’m so excited to be a guest designer again on the Spellbinders Blog today. This post is part of a series featuring the Little Loves Collection by Sharyn Sowell! You can find my first post here.
In my last post, I created a blue sky for my scene. For today’s card, I wanted to use Away We Go die with a night sky instead.
To begin, I first die-cut Away We Go using watercolor cardstock and the Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine. I removed the silhouette cut and watercolored the negative with Mijello Mission Gold Watercolors in black and dark blue shades. Once it dried, I added white splatters and then details with a white gel pen.
I watercolored the group of kids with rainbow colors using the same watercolors. I glued the sky base first onto my white card base and then mounted the kids with foam tape.
The sentiment was stamped onto black cardstock with VersaMark ink and heat-embossed with white embossing powder. I trimmed it down and mounted it over the sky with foam tape.
Once again, what an uplifting card – perfect for kids and adults. We all know that life brings along many struggles and obstacles so look on the bright side for rainbows and stars. Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you’ll come back to see my last post featuring this collection.
