Hello again! This is Keeway Tsao and I’m thrilled to be here today for another guest post with Spellbinders featuring the Exclusive Indie Line.
I absolutely adore this exclusive line of products, and today I will be sharing you a card featuring one of my favorites, Layered Monarch. I was immediately drawn to be the beautiful details of this butterfly die cut.
I started by blending Broken China and Antique Linen onto white card stock, and then die cut two of the bottom layer of the butterfly. I die cut the center layer out of plain white card stock, and again out of vellum. Next, I die cut the very top layer out of white cardstock, and adhered it to my vellum layer.
I gently bent the winged layers and adhered it to the bottom layers right at the core of the butterfly, allowing the wings to stay afloat. This gave me a gorgeous dimension to my butterflies.
I then used the Broken China, Cracked Pistachio, and Antique Linen distress oxide inks to create the blended background from the top right corner inward, and a gradual blend to the white card stock. I added some splatter thereafter.
I finished the card with a sentiment heat embossed in silver in the bottom left corner. And finally, I adhered the butterflies diagonally across the card. So dreamy!

I love how the splatter makes it looks like twinkling stars in the sky. Almost like its dusk but there are stars out. Very beautiful.
