Make A Wish! Z-Fold Birthday Card
Don’t you just love this cheerful and fun interactive card? This Z-Fold birthday card is something you can make for anyone’s birthday – young or old! It’s pretty much perfect for anybody, don’t you think? Besides, there are always so many birthdays it’s fun to try something new like this! Let’s take a look at how this is created, with a photo tutorial. And at the end, you’ll find a complete video tutorial of this same process.
First stamp and die-cut some candles, using the Birthday Candles Stamp and Die sets. This stamp set is a two step stamping set and we love how playful it is. It’s meant to be whimsical and the indexing on the back helps you line up the outline with the filler stamps — don’t you love that?!
Now because this is a Z Fold Card there are several pieces of paper with different dimensions and with different placement for the score lines. Use the FSJ Scoring Board to score in just the right spot! For this project, we used a sheet of Limeade Splash cardstock cut to 8 inches by 4.5 inches and scored at 4 1/8 and 6 inches. We also used a sheet of Turbo Teal cardstock cut to 7 3/4 inches by 4 1/4 inches and scored at 4 and 5 7/8 inches. This will create the base of the card. Hang with us here – you got this!
Next, do the same thing with a strip of Good Vibe printed paper and Turbo Teal cardstock. They were cut to 1 1/4 inches by 7 3/4 inches and then scored at 4 and 5 7/8 inches.

Cute birthday card! I haven’t made a Z-fold card in quite awhile. Thanks for the tutorial!
It’s always nice to see sample cards using a fold I haven’t used in awhile. It’s not that much work to do a fancy-fold and it sure makes the cards extra special! Thanks for sharing!
I love the idea of using the candles as the main focal point for this card. Definitely making one of these.
