Special Moments Inspiration | Flower Background – Inlaid Technique with Jean
Hello everyone. This is Jean Manis, and I am delighted to be back with another project showcasing the Special Moments Collection by Marisa Job. In case you missed my previous posts, you can find them here and here. My project today uses the inlaid technique, which is one of my favorite die-cutting techniques.
To begin, I cut white cardstock with the Flower Background. I repeated the process and adhered the panels together with spray adhesive. I added a light gray panel to the back of the die-cut assembly.
I used the Flower Background to cut three shades of pink cardstock. I inlaid the pieces into the die-cut frame, filling the largest flowers with the lightest shade, the next size with the medium shade, and the smaller flowers with the darkest shade. I attached the completed panel to a card base.
Using my paper trimmer, I cut a light-blue cardstock strip, which I adhered to the center of the panel. I cut the letters with the Miss You Swirl set. Using the negative of the letter die-cut for placement, I adhered the letters to a white cardstock circle cut with a circle die in the Special Day Frame set. To frame the sentiment, I added a circle cut from white cardstock with a die in the Special Day Frame set.
There are many ways that the Flower Background can be used. I know this is a die set I’ll reach for time and again.
