Make a Summer Shaker Card with Watercolor Seashells
You know how we love our Try Day Friday series! Each Friday afternoon on our FSJ Facebook page, and our YouTube channel we share a new technique with you LIVE. Isn’t that so fun? If you’d like to watch on our YouTube channel, you can see the video right here.
WOW! There is SO MUCH BEAUTY right here in one card. Not only that – there are no less than four great techniques we know that are sure to excite you. So, let’s take a look at how all of them come together to create this one card.
To create a beautiful background for the shaker portion of the card it starts with Cool Pool Liquid Color on a Clearview Sheet spritzed with water from our Media Mister. Then, you can paint over the sheet with the Square Paint Brush and place the Color Splash Sheet on top to capture all of that beautiful color! You know we couldn’t stop there, though!
Let’s spritz some Turbo Teal Color Splash then water from the Media Mister. We’ll repeat that with the Cool Pool Color Splash and the water for a watery, beautiful panel that is like a dream! Drip all the excess liquid off the panel and set aside to dry.
Now. Focal point in our shaker is this gorgeous starfish from our Beach Treasures stamp set. Let’s give it some color by adding a few shades of our Color Splash Pencils. FUN! We’ll blend them all out with a Blender Brush and make it all watercolor to coordinate with our background we already created!
Let’s get to shaking! We have to add White Liner to the back of the frame we cut from Journey Rectangles so we can attach the Clearview Sheet.
Here’s a tip for trimming the Foam Tape! Adhere it to parchment paper and then you can cut it so easily to whatever width you need!
Now, add all that trimmed Foam Tape to the frame you’ve already started to assemble.
Let’s fill the shaker! We love Silver Shavings for sand, Sparkle Cuts for some shimmer and a few Blue Skies Sequins just because they are gorgeous!
We can add the background that we created first once we’re finished filling it up.
Now the final step is to create the background for the card — this stunning Deco Wall background stamp and the new Rose Gold Embossing Powder! Hello, beautiful! This is not only pretty, but it ties everything together!
