Use an Unexpected Color Combo for Handmade Christmas Cards

Hello, there! As the title suggests, we’re here to discuss Christmas and we’re pretty sure you’re going to want to stick around. Why, you ask? Because we’ve got a sophisticated card using an unexpected color palette, PLUS a fun coloring technique, as well.  Let’s not delay, we’ll dive right in!

Did your jaw drop? Ours sure did!  The theme and layout of this Christmas card is fairly traditional, but the color palette gives such a fun and unexpected twist. Our Confectionary Days pastel colors are absolutely gorgeous with the beautiful Christmas Sprig stamp.  The coloring on this stamped image complements the pastel pattern from Cozy Prints so nicely. Let’s take a closer look.

We colored this image using Liquid Colors but we mixed them with just a little splash of water and a little splash of Sparkle Silk.  Add more or less water to create any shade you’d like, and add as much Sparkle Silk as you’d like to get the desired amount of shimmer and shine.

One more fun addition for extra Christmas shine is Sparkle Tape!  It’s easy to use and adds the perfect amount of glittery goodness to handmade cards. Simply trim or tear a section and you have instant glitter with no mess! We used the pretty pink in the Girls Life Tape but you can use any of our shades that match your project.

Have you thought about creating your Christmas cards yet?  Maybe you’ve already started! Please share all your designs with us because we love  the ideas you come up with!  Make sure to post your cards on our Facebook page or tag us on Instagram so we can see!
