Great, Big, Wonderful World Inspiration | Lazy day Layout with Anna
Hello crafty friends. My name is Anna Komenda and I am so happy to be back on the Spellbinders blog with another series of posts. This time I am guest designing with Great, Big, Wonderful World collection created by Sharyn Sowell. But before we will jump to my first project, let me quickly introduce myself. I live in central Poland with my family of two girls, hubby and beagle dog. I am stay-at-home mom, a little obsessed with scrapbooking. It all started 10 years ago and I don’t think it will ever let go lol! I love paper crafts and can’t imagine my life without them. If you’d like to get to know me better, you can visit my blog, Instagram or YouTube channel.
If you are familiar with my projects, you probably know that layouts are my favorite form. Every time I see a die, I try to think of some great way to use it on LO and this time wasn’t different. Great, Big, Wonderful World collection is so idyllic, full of positive thoughts and with this carefree feeling I knew I will use pictures taken in the countryside, among flowers, filled with having great fun. My parents live in a beautiful place and we visit them often. My girls have an opportunity to run barefoot, pick flowers, play in the giant sandpit. We often take my nephew with us. I always run with camera trying to catch all those feelings to preserve the memories forever.
I was inspired by silhouette dies of playing children to use pictures of Maja and Kuba picking flowers and add some whimsical feel to them. The dies are quite big, so it’s easy to fill the whole 12×12″ space with them.
I created a scene using three dies: Join The Parade, Love & Flowers and Sun Face. Adding white shadow helped them stand out from the background. All you need to do is to cut the same die twice using contrasting colors and layer them one over another moving the one on the top a little bit to the left.
Using butterflies and fussy cut, cute clouds helped me achieve this whimsical feel to the page.
This layout is really easy to make and you don’t need any special skills to create a similar one. Those pretty dies make my pictures shine. I like adding 3D foam squares beneath them, to help them pop even more.
