Great, Big, Wonderful World Inspiration | Colorful Cards with Melody
Hello Everyone! It’s Melody Rupple here on the Spellbinder blog again today. I am back with two more projects created with new Great, Big, Wonderful World Collection by Sharyn Sowell. If you missed my first post you can find it here.
My first card is created with the new Butterfly & Flora Dies. This pretty silhouette die has a lovely butterfly design in center of the square shape. I love how the floral die cuts leave the shape of a heart.
The first step is to cut the Butterfly & Flora Die from white cardstock. I used a stencil brush to add the pale yellow background to the white cardstock.
One of the great things about a silhouette die is that you can keep your card simple or add as much detail to the die cut as you want. I chose four color of cardstock to add detail to the butterfly. I added a square of vellum behind the butterfly die cut. The vellum keeps the look soft and makes it easy to attached the detailed die cuts. My hint of making this set easy to add a thin double stick adhesive on one side of the cardstock before you run it through your die cut machine.
To finish off the card I just added a small sentiment, keeping the butterfly the centerpiece of the card.
My second card showcases the sweet Love and Flowers Dies. I created the card in a similar way as the first card but here I kept the detailed inlays simple, just adding the heart, leaves, and piece of yellow cardstock behind the sunflower.
I added a sentiment at the bottom of the card, stamping in Versamark Ink and embossing with white embossing powder.
Taylored Expressions cardstock in Sugar Cube, Oreo, Confetti Cake, Vellum, Lollipop, Peapod, Pineapple, Playful Patterns, Taylored Expressions Friendly Phrases Stamp Set, Pretty Pink Posh Everyday Greetings Stamp Set, Couture Creations Double Sided Tape.
I hope I have inspired you to try working with Silhouette Dies on your cards. I think you will love the beautiful details of the Big, Wonderful World Collection.
Beautiful cards! I love the gingham in the second card! Such a pretty detail!
