Great, Big, Wonderful World Inspiration | Cards filled with love with Anna

Hello friends. It’s Anna here again with second batch of projects featuring Great, Big, Wonderful World collection created by Sharyn Sowell. You can find my first post here, where I show you a whimsical layout. Today I want to share with you two cards. I must mention, I am not a cardmaker and it usually takes me longer to make a card that a layout. But with these dies it ended up being a very fast and relaxing process.

First card is created using Love Grows die, which is large enough to cover the entire card base. I thought it will be fun to add some color by painting the cut out with watercolors. I cut it three times – once with watercolor paper, and twice using just a regular cardstock. Gluing all pieces together created very solid combo and I knew it won’t curl up after I added water to it.

Tip! Die-cut 3 identical shapes (one out of watercolor paper and 2 out of regular cardstock) and glue together to add additional support to the watercolor piece and prevent it from warping when adding color & water.

After coloring was done, I adhered it to the piece of pink paper and added few sequins. This die has a separate “So Much” words added and you can place it over the banner. I decided not to use it. I added alpha letters instead creating “This is true love” inscription.

Second card is even more simple then the first one. I used die called “With Love” with a little twist. I picked few shades of pink papers and cut them using only an upper part of the die, with flowers. Thanks to that, I got pretty lace, that I could layer one over another creating very subtle effect.

I must tell you that it looked even better than in my head and I love the ombre effect created by different shades of the same color. You can easily transform it by using another color combo. This card is a perfect example that sometimes less is more and you don’t always have to use the whole die cut. I finished this piece by adding few fussy cut butterflies and sequins.
