Glorious Glimmer Inspiration | Elegant Cards with Desiree

Hello Everyone! My name is Desiree Kuemmerle and I am very excited to be a Guest Designer on the Spellbinders Blog today showcasing the Hot Foil Glimmer plates by Becca Feeken – Amazing Paper Grace!

The Amazing Paper Grace collection is absolutely beautiful and you will see why so many of these products are titled as Elegant! These are a perfect companion for the Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil System and the more I create with this system, I find just how versatile it is in our paper crafting world. Hopefully you will see just how easy this system is with the help of a few tips and tricks I will show along the way.

For today’s projects I chose three gorgeous glimmer dies from this collection called Foil Flowers, Elegant Circle and Elegant Occasion Sentiments! These images make any focal point on your card special and unique and work perfectly together! Some of these dies also come with a coordinating cut out die for each of your images. This is wonderful to ensure you have your images centered on your card panel.

For my first project I chose the center die from the Elegant Circle Set. When I saw this set, I knew I wanted to use many foil colors swirling around my sentiment! I used copper, rose gold and silver foil and cut each piece down to the size of my foil plate. I decided on my card stock I wanted to foil on and chose a sentiment from the Elegant Occasion Sentiment Set.

Once my Glimmer Hot Foil System was ready, my images were foiled onto my card stock one by one using a different color of foil for each image.

Once I was done setting my images, I used one of my dies from the Hemstitch Rectangle Set to cut out my panel and used my tape runner to adhere it to my Standard A2 size side folding card base. This card may look complicated but the Glimmer System makes these cards simple and quick to complete!

For my second image I used the Foil Flowers Die Set and the Elegant Occasion Sentiments and grabbed many colors of card stock to foil my images on! I was not sure how many flowers I was going to need so I just made a lot, and of course I had extra for more projects if needed!

The Glimmer Hot Foil System comes with everything you need to immediately start creating beautiful projects, yes, including dies! I used one of them as my background for my card. Once all my images were done and die cut with the coordinating outline die, I was ready to start layering my card.

My flowers were placed on opposite corners of my oval using liquid adhesive and foam tape for added dimension and texture! After my flowers were set, I had a beautiful backdrop for my sentiment! Set my panel onto my Standard A2 Size side folding card base.
