Easy Marbling Technique | Tools, Tips and Techniques
Hello, Fun friends! We are so very excited to share with you today because we think you’re going to LOVE what we’re sharing with you. You love simple and gorgeous paper crafting techniques, right? We love how Creative Director Kim Kesti shared how to create a beautiful marbled background using our Liquid Colors. Would you like to watch how Kim created these two cards? You can do so right here! Let’s not delay, lets get a little bit messy!
Isn’t it just stunning?! That beautiful marble background looks like some expensive piece of stone or artwork that took hours to create. However, as Kim showed us in her video – it’s neither! Let’s walk through it step by step.
To create that marvelous marble you only need a handful of items, including something you might have in your medicine cabinet, shaving cream! Add in our Media Tray, Crease Tool and Bubble Gum & Watermelon Fusion Liquid Colors and you are ready to pull the perfect print.
Give the media tray a generous coat of shaving cream, don’t skimp! If you make it nice and thick you’ll be able to pull more than one print and make the ink go even further. Use one of the dividers from the Media Tray to smooth the shaving cream.
Here’s where we add drops of Liquid Color. Kim added less drops of Watermelon Fusion since it’s the darker color. [In the photo it looks all the same but maybe 5 drops of Watermelon Fusion and the rest Bubble Gum will do the trick.]
You can use the pointed end of the Crease Tool to blend the ink together, using the same motion you might use to frost a cake.
Yes, that is it. I know, it’s unbelievable! Now you simply place the Whip Cream Cardstock panel in the shaving cream, pressing on the entire thing to make sure the beautiful color transfers onto your cardstock. Once you’ve pulled one cardstock panel, you can do another, as well!
Isn’t that just beautiful? Because the marbling feels so fresh and modern, Kim decided to pair that with the Hexagons Die Set for a card that mimics that style. [Kim used the smallest hexagons from the set.]
Would you like to see how Kim created the marbling and her thoughts behind it? You can see that and more in the following video!
Did you already go and check to see if you had some shaving cream you could use?! [No surprise or shame because this technique looks irresistible!] When you give the marbling a try, make sure to share with us because we are hooked on this technique! You can find us on Facebook RIGHT HERE or on Instagram, as well!
Now you know how Kim loves to spoil us with her inspiration, so she created another beautiful card with this technique we wanted to share with you, too! Have Fun creating, friends!
