Video: Just Add Color Inspiration | How to Make a Beautiful Floral Gift Card Set with Therese Calvird
Hi there everybody! My name is Therese Calvird from www.lostinpaper.com, I am thrilled to be Guest Designing here at the Spellbinder’s Blog today and I am showcasing the beautiful release from Stephanie Low – Just Add Color.
What’s not to love, this collection is stunning! Perfectly sized to fit on a card design and with so many pretty little bouquets I knew as soon as I saw these stamps that I had to make a gift card set. After that all that was left to decide was the color combo, and I thought that some nice bright colours paired with a neutral felt just right.
Some of the tips that I can give you when creating a set of cards is to keep to a ‘theme’ and work in ‘production line’ style, this will make the process easier and faster. You may notice that I used the same colors for all my cards and the design elements were similar throughout, but I did use two different layouts to change it up a bit.
I started by preparing my flowers. I stamped all of the images that I needed, then colored and fussy cut them out.
Then it was time to prepare the card front panels. Three of the designs had die cut windows.
And the other three backgrounds were tone on tone stamped using some of the stamps from the collection.
My sentiments were either stamped directly onto the panels or added on a banner.
Then it was simply a matter of combining the elements to create each card.
