Video: New Cut & Emboss Folders Cards with Nichol
Hi there! This is Nichol Spohr with four sympathy/thinking of you style cards featuring the new Cut & Emboss Folders. The embossed backgrounds create amazing elegant designs for so many different occasions. Two of the new folders are perfect for A2 sized cards (4 ¼” x 5 ½”) and two are perfect for 5” x 7” cards. A bit of inking to the embossed areas helps showcase the detail and a contrasting color of cardstock layered behind each panel clearly shows the die cut areas!
Florals from a past Large Die of the Month Kit were used to adorn the designs, however you could use florals from any of your favorite Spellbinders die collections! Let’s get started with the designs.
The new Floral Reflections Cut & Emboss Folder was die cut from Fun Stampers Journey Chambray Shirt. A blue ink was used to add a bit of additional color to the embossed areas of the design. A sentiment was stamped in the open space of the design using clear embossing ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. The panel was layered over a piece of Pool Play Cardstock. Flowers and leaves from the February 2019 Large Die of the Month Club, Bonjour. I used FSJ Cardstock in Sweet Berry, Pineapple Smoothie, Lemongrass, Limeade Splash, Pool Play, Chambray Shirt, and Lavender Fusion. A sentiment was stamped on Pool Play Cardstock with blue ink, trimmed into a thin strip and adhered to the design with foam adhesive as shown.
The Flora & Fauna Cut & Emboss Folder was die cut from Peaches & Cream Cardstock with the embossed areas emphasized with a dark pink ink applied with a blending brush. FSJ Cardstock in Sweet Berry was layered behind the panel to show through the die cut areas. A butterfly and florals from the February 2019 Large Die of the Month Club, Bonjour were die cut from FSJ Sweet Berry, Peaches & Cream, Lemongrass, and Limeade Splash, a glitter cardstock, a gold matte cardstock, and smooth white cardstock. The die cuts were adhered to the center of the 5” x 7” panel. A greeting was stamped on FSJ Sweet Berry Cardstock with clear embossing ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. The sentiment was trimmed into a thin strip and adhered with foam adhesive.
The Moroccan View Cut & Emboss Folder was die cut from FSJ Cool Pool Cardstock and inked with a teal ink to showcase the embossing. The panel was layered over FSJ Blue Lagoon Cardstock. A sentiment was stamped with clear embossing ink and heat embossed with gold embossing powder on Blue Lagoon Cardstock. The sentiment was adhered with foam adhesive and the card finished with Nuvo Crystal Drops in Bright Gold over the dot embossed detail.
The Floral Spash Cut & Emboss Folder was die cut from plum cardstock and white pigment ink was used to add detail to the embossing. FSJ Fresh Sage Cardstock was applied behind the panel for contrast. Flowers and leaves from the February 2019 Large Die of the Month Club, Bonjour were die cut from FSJ Fresh Sage and Banana Cream Cardstock, gold matte cardstock, and smooth white cardstock. A sentiment was stamped with clear embossing ink and heat embossed with gold embossing powder on Fresh Sage Cardstock. The sentiment was adhered with foam adhesive and the card finished with Nuvo Crystal Drops in Bright Gold over the dot embossed detail.

Stunning cards, Nichol. Adding the ink over the embossed areas on the card added so much more subtle detail. Thanks for the inspiration.
