Candlewick Sampler Inspiration | Woodland Inspired Projects with Agnieszka
Hello Darlings! My name is Agnieszka and I have an incredible honour to be inspiring you today as a guest designer at Spellbinders’. I am an avid scrapbooker from Poland – my favourite ways of preserving memories are making scrapbook pages and mini albums. You can find more of my works on my blog or follow me on Instagram.
I am so in love with the newest collection of dies, Candlewick by Becca Feeken! They are so beautiful, versatile and smart to use! I wish I could manage to use all 8 sets of dies in the 3 projects I am going to show you… For start I have a sweet scrapbook page featuring my niece Emily.
I used beautiful dies from S4-1015 Rosebud set to cut petals (and then form them into dimensional flowers), leaves and swirls and S3-382 Colonnade Border to cut ornaments – I think they add an incredible romantic feel to my layout.
Tip: Don’t limit yourself to cutting cardstock or paper! I used these lovely petal dies to cut a thin sheet of foam (called foamiran) that can be coloured with inks, heated up and formed into shapes of flowers. It keeps the shape when it gets cold, how great is that..?!
I have to admit that I have a soft spot for patterned papers and found out that die cuts made out of them can look very interesting. In my next project, a set of autumnal cards, I used S4-1024- Corners and S4-1016 Canopy. The corners are super versatile, you can create cut outs, edges or ornaments, depending on how you combine the dies. So smart!
Tip: Try cutting up your die cuts into smaller pieces – these would be perfect to add some lovely touches on envelopes that come along with cards.
As for my third project I embellished this house shaped wooden decor with amazingly pretty shapes cut out using S4-1023 Exquisite Topper and S4-1016 Canopy. They are so decorative, just perfect for this whimsical sign reminding me to stay true to myself.
