Fall & Halloween Cards with Yasmin
Hello, Spellbinders and FSJ friends! Yasmin here, on today’s blog I’ll be sharing with you these 2 Fall & Halloween projects made using dies and glimmer plates from the new Fall & Halloween 2020 Collection.
Fall Card
Before we start, these projects are assuming that you already know how-to-foil with the glimmer hot foil system so with that said, start by setting the Glimmer Hot Foil System Platform and the Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine on your craft table, and while the platform is heating up… go ahead and get the card panel prepare to get foil it.
So therefore:
- Line up over an A2 side card panel of color cardstock of your choice the Autumn Leaf Border Glimmer Hot Foil Plate from Fall & Halloween 2020 Collection on landscape or portrait form.
- Next, cut a piece of Glimmer Hot Foil Roll – Gold and placed it underneath the glimmer plate.
- Then, secure in place with washi tape the glimmer plate and foil and get the border foil over the card panel using the Glimmer Hot Foil System Platform and Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine.
- Once, you are done transferring the foil over the first border you can stop here, or you can go head to repeat the same step to get the top of the card panel foiled just like I did for this example.
Lastly, after the borders of the card panel are foiled:
- Line up in the center of the card panel the Stylish Script Thankful Glimmer Hot Foil Plate from Fall & Halloween 2020 Collection, and get it foiled with using a piece of Glimmer Hot Foil Roll – Gold.
- Then right after you’re done foiling the sentiment, trim the edges down from the card panel a bit smaller than a standard A2 size card, and adhere the backing of it with double-sided tape to an A2 size card top folding white card base.
- Finally, finish the card off by gluing down gold jewels here and there to complement the gold and shine from the foil.
Halloween Card
I made this Spooky Halloween card using the Die D-Lites Halloween Sunday Drive Etched Dies from Fall & Halloween 2020 Collection which by the was combines perfectly with the Shapeabilities Sunday Drive Etched Dies. Along with those sets, I also used the new: Spider Web Background Glimmer Hot Foil Plate from Fall & Halloween 2020 Collection and Glimmer Hot Foil Roll – Black.
So therefore:
- Run through the die-cut machine the dies from the Shapeabilities Sunday Drive Etched Dies to die-cut each piece out different color cardstock.
- Then, run though the die-cut machine the dies from the Die D-Lites Halloween Sunday Drive Etched Dies from Fall & Halloween 2020 Collection to die-cut them out of different color cardstock.
- Once, you’re done die-cutting each piece glue them down with liquid glue and set them aside while you get the card panel foiling done.
In the meanwhile:
- Line up over the top of an A2 white card panel the Spider Web Background Glimmer Hot Foil Plate from Fall & Halloween 2020 Collection, and cut a piece of Glimmer Hot Foil Roll – Black large enough to cover the glimmer plate.
- Once, you’re ready to foil go ahead and get the top part of the card panel foiled, and then after repeat the same step to get the bottom foiled for a full complete look.
- Lastly, after you’re done foiling the spider web over the card panel, go ahead and lined up over the top part of the card panel the sentiment included in the set, and get it foil with a different glimmer foil color to make it stand out, or you can skip that step by simply using the same glimmer foil color.
- Finally, after you’ve completed the foiling over the card panel, trim the edges down from it and adhere the backing of it with double-sided tape to an A2 top folding white card base, then adhere the car, elements and last, but certainly not least finish the card off by gluing down gold jewels to add a touch of spooky sparkling look.
