Becca Feeken Sweet Cardlets Collection – Glimmered Sweet Cardlets with Marie
Hello, crafty friends! Marie here from Marie Nicole Designs. I get to share a few card designs I created using the Sweet Cardlet Collection. These cards are clean and simple and they show how easy it is to build some encouraging cards for friends and loved one.
Graceful Swan Glimmer Plates
For my first card, I simply glimmered the design plate on some colored cardstock. I turned the plate at an angle to create a diamond on the upper portion of the card. I have found that glimmering on smooth cardstock gives best results, so I always grab my cardstock with a smooth texture.
After I had the background design glimmered, I added a sentiment strip that I glimmered and cut out with the Foil Trimmer. Not only does the Foil Trimmer help you cut your foil precisely, but you can use the paper trimming blade to cut thin sentiment strips. I love this feature, as I frequently struggle with getting very thin strips cut for sentiments.
I then finished the card by adding the foiled swan, and some coordinating sequins. Simple and encouraging for whoever you might send it to!
Mix And Match
One thing I always like to do when I get a new set is see what other sets I can mix and match with. For this second card, I used the swan and the sentiment from the Graceful Swan set, and I mixed it with the Geometric Floral Glimmer Set. The geometric set has this gorgeous frame that you can add florals to. I used the frame plate with some gold foil, and also the same gold foil on the sentiment. I then added some of the little die cut flowers from the geometric set around the swan as embellishments.
To finish this card, I added some white Nuvo drops and a few circle sequins around the swan and the flowers. Again, very simple, but something that you could do quickly if you need to get a card in the mail!
Lovely Ladybug Glimmer Plates
My last card today is created with the Lovely Ladybug Glimmer set. This set has a beautiful leaf design plate that you can repeatedly glimmer across your card front to create a completely glimmered card. I chose to glimmer the bottom 2/3s, and leave the top 1/3 plain, so that the little ladybug wouldn’t get lost in the pattern.
I used some light green cardstock which I ink blended some darker green onto the bottom of. Then, I used some black cardstock to glimmer the ladybug and the sentiment. I love that the ladybug has two pieces- the bug and its wings. You can glimmer and cut the pieces out separately, and then adhere them together with some foam adhesive. That makes it look like the ladybug is about to fly off the page.
I loved the simplicity of this card, so I chose not to embellish once all my glimmered pieces were in place. I simple trimmed down the edges of my card front and then adhered it to an A2 card base.
