Expression of Love Collection with Yasmin Diaz
Hello, Spellbinders and FSJ, Friends! Yasmin here sharing with you a lovely trio of Glimmer Foiling cards made to showcase Expression of Love Collection. So, without further ado, let’s jump into the step-by-step for how I made them.
Full Foiled Background
This collection includes the beautiful Scattered Hearts Background Glimmer Hot Foil Plate so therefore, I started by setting up my Glimmer Hot Foil System and Platinum 6 Die Cutting and Embossing Machine on my crafting table then, I turned on the glimmer hot foil platform. Thus, while the platform was heating up, I went ahead to line up the glimmer plates on the right side of a white card panel. Once, I had it line up over the card panel, I went ahead to add a piece of washitape to keep it in place.
Then right after that, I went ahead to cut a piece of Glimmer Hot Foil Roll – Polished Brass using the Quick Trimmer. So, after the glimmer hot foil platform was ready to foil, I went ahead to get the card panel foiled using the glimmer plates once on the right side and then once on the left side of the card panel for a whole foiling background look. Therefore, after I’ve had finished the foiling over the card panel, I went ahead to trim the edges off from it and then I went ahead to adhere it down with double-sided tape over an A2 top folding white card base.
Moving on, after I’ve had finished adhering the card panel to the card base, I went ahead to set it off to the side and I started the die-cutting for the focal point of the card. Thus, for the car I’ve used Shapeabilities Sunday Drive Etched Dies which happens to be a die set from previous releases along with the newest Sunday Sunset Drive Etched Dies set which is an addition to the set. So, after I’ve had finished die-cutting each piece out of different color cardstocks I went ahead to assemble the pieces together for the car as well as for the lovely couple.
You can take a closer look on how lovely the couple look like once they are assembled as well as the detailed die-cutting piece. Lastly, you can also take a closer look for how beautiful the scattered foiled hearts in the background panel as well as the detailed die-cutting pieces that embellish the car. With that said, to finish the card off, I went ahead to line up one of the dies from Expressions of Love Sentiments Etched Dies over a pieces of color cardstock and then I ran them through the die-cutting machine. Finally, after I’ve finished die-cutting a few words I stacked them together and I went ahead to mount the dimensional die-cutting word on the upper side of the card to complete the You & Me Forever sentiment. Then, as finishing touches, I went ahead to glue down some gold jewels and a few colored hearts and dots which are part of one of the dies from the Sunday Sunset Drive Etched Dies set.
Square Shaker Card
For this square shaker card, I’ve lined up one of the intricate dies from Forever Love Hearts Etched Dies right in the center of a 4-1/4’’ x 4-1/4’’ inches square card panel. Next, I ran them through my the die-cutting machine to die-cut the intricate window.
Therefore, after I’ve had finished die-cutting the intricate window, I used the brush head from my Tool ‘n One to remove the little pieces out the window and once I had that step done, I went ahead to get the foil done so, for the foiling I used the largest glimmer foil plate from Essential Glimmer Squares Hot Foil Plates along with a large piece of the same gold foil that I’ve used in the previous example.
Moving on, after I’ve had finished the foiling, I went ahead to line up over the foiled panel the largest die from Nestabilities Essential Squares Etched Dies and then, I went ahead to run them through the die-cutting machine. Thus, right after that I’ve finished die-cutting the square card panel, I went ahead to get a piece of acetate adhered with double-sided tape to the back of it. Next, while the card panel was upside down, I added pieces of craft foam tape to raise dimension and then, I added a quite amount of glitter and sequins as my shaker elements.
Lastly, I adhered with double-sided tape a smaller colored panel to one 4-1/4’’ x 4-1/4’’ inches white card base using the same color cardstock that I used in the previous example complimenting that way the set. Thus, after the I’ve had that step done, I peeled off the backing of the craft foam tape and I’ve adhered down the card base to the dimensional card panel. Then, to finish the card off, I’ve mounted the Forever Yours die-cutting sentiment which I’ve had previously die-cut out white and gold cardstock using 2 word dies from Expressions of Love Sentiments Etched Dies. That said, after I mounted the sentiment, I embellished the card by gluing down with liquid glue a mix of gold jewels and clear sequins.
Double Gate Foiled Card
To create this double gate card, I went ahead to fully foil an A2 white card panel using once again Scattered Hearts Background Glimmer Hot Foil Plate and Glimmer Hot Foil Roll – Polished Brass so therefore, after I’ve had finished the foiling step, I cut the foiled card panel in half using my paper trimmer and once I had the 2 equal panel, I’ve gotten the trim down to W 1-7/8’’ x H 5-1/4’’ inches.
As for the card base, I trimmed down an 8-1/2 x 11.0 inches white cardstock sheet to W 8-3/4’’ x H 5-1/2’’ inches then, after I’ve had finished trimming it down, I went ahead to place it over my scoring tool and then, I’ve marked a scoring line on each side at 2-1/8’’ inch point mark.
Thus, after I was done scoring the lines, I went ahead to fold them over and then I’ve got the foiled smaller panels adhere with double-sided tape to each side of the gates (as shown in the image above.) Lastly, to create the focal point or closure for the gates so the card could stay closed, I went ahead to line up the outer die from the Forever Love Hearts Etched Dies over a piece of the same color cardstock that I’ve used for the previous examples then right after that, I ran them through the die-cutting machine.
That said, after I’ve had finished die-cutting the solid heart, I went ahead to add glue to half of the backing of the heart then, I’ve glued it to the left gate of the card. Next, I’ve lined up the outer heart die along with the other intricate die included in the set to die-cut a white and a gold intricate hearts which right afterwards, I’ve had stacked them together a little off set to the right side to have a little gold shadow. As final touches, I glued down with liquid glue the stacked die-cutting heart to the colored die-cutting heart as well as the die-cutting words which I’ve had previously die-cut and stacked in the same way as I did for the previous examples using 2 dies from the Expressions of Love Sentiments Etched Dies. Then, I couldn’t finish the card off without adding sequins and jewels so I kept it simple by gluing down the same combination that I used on the previous examples.
