Introducing Layered Full Moon & Star Bright Stencils
The Celestial Zodiacs Collection, part of the January 2021 release, hosts two stunning stencils to be used with inks, modeling paste, glitter, and paint. Today let’s look at some tips and techniques for our new Star Bright and Layered Moon stencils.
You’ll love the Star Bright stencil to add a streak of sparkling stars to the background of Celestial Zodiacs cards and crafts. In addition you’ll reach for this stencil all year long to create glittering stars behind a Christmas scene, an elegant night sky for anniversary cards, or a colorful starry background for birthday cards.

Next, let’s look at the Layered Moon stencil. Layering stencils are so trendy and fun and you’ll have a blast creating colorfully shaded moonscapes with this four-layer stencil set.
- Begin by taping down the first stencil and ink up the circle layer of the moon. (Our new Best Ever Craft Tape is perfect to hold stencils in place.)
- Next, use the registration dots on each additional numbered stencil for perfect alignment and add layers of ink for a dimensional shaded moon.

I watched the video but it doesn’t explain what you applied over the stencil before adding the glitter. I was going to purchase but video not very helpful in showing what supplies you need other than the Spellbinders products.

Julie, we applied Modeling paste – https://www.spellbinderspaperarts.com/journey-modeling-paste/. You can also apply embossing paste for a similar result. I hope this helps!
