Handmade Cards Using Susan’s Garden Club with Joy Baldwin
Hi crafty friends, my name is Joy Baldwin (aka Create It With Joy). I love making handmade cards and sharing them with you. If you want to check out more of my creations, head over to my blog. I’m excited to share three beautiful cards with you today, using Susan’s Garden Club Collection.
Since I love making handmade cards, I made three today. I did some stenciling, used Distress Glaze and Crackle Distress Paste. I really love white flowers, so for all of the designs I used white flowers. I hope you enjoy!
All of the images are die cut from Susan’s Garden Specialty Cardstock. It has some texture and is very lightweight, which makes it easier to shape the flowers and leaves.
For the first card I created the Narcissus flower in white with a beautiful orange center and green leaves. I used Copic Markers to color the leaves and centers of the flowers. I was able to give shape to all of the floral images by using Susan’s Garden Ultimate Tool Kit. I added Antique Linen and Salvaged Patina Distress Embossing Glaze by sprinkling it on and melting it with a heat tool. I adhered that to white cardstock, added the flowers and leaves, added the Gold Embossed sentiment and then added a shadow beneath the vase with a Copic Marker.
The second card has a stenciled background using the Quatrefoil Stencil with Shabby Shutters and Bundled Sage. I only stenciled down the center of the card panel on an angle. I have two colors of Oriental Lilies on this card. I left two completely white with green stamina and the other three have pink, yellow and green centers. I added some dot detail with a Copic Marker, which some lilies have. Then I colored the leaves with green Copic Markers. I finished with a Gold Embossed sentiment.
The last card has some Hybrid Tea Roses. I made “Chocolate Roses” for this card. They are very soft with a light caramel color. I used E00 and E31 Copic Markers to achieve the color. I colored the the leaves with green Copic Markers. For the tea pot, I added Crackle Texture Paste to it and once it was dry I ink blended with Speckled Egg Distress Oxide Ink. I added some more detail by using the some Gold Embossing Powder on the edges and heating that until it was melted. I finished with a Gold Embossed sentiment.
