Color Block Merry Christmas – Two Takes
Hello fellow crafters. It’s Jean sharing slimline holiday cards created with the Be Bold Color Block Merry Christmas die set, part of the Be Bold Color Block Collection. As a fan of pop art, such as Robert Indiana’s Love Sculpture in New York, (which first appeared as a Christmas card for The Museum of Modern Art), I was immediately drawn to this collection. Let’s see how I changed the look of the card with construction method, as well as cardstock and patterned paper choices.
My first card features glitter cardstock letters in non-traditional Christmas colors.
- Create a white glitter cardstock base 3 ½ x 8 ½ inches.
- Die-cut letters from four glitter cardstock colors with the Be Bold Color Block Merry Christmas letter die.
- Place letters into die and tape together on the back.
- Adhere letters to base.
- Die-cut “Merry” sentiment from silver foil cardstock. Adhere to card center with foam adhesive.

Other Supplies
Glitter cardstock, silver foil cardstock, tape, foam adhesive
On my second card, I die-cut the letters and the background from patterned paper, assembling the pieces like a jigsaw.
- Create a cardstock base 3 ½ x 8 ½ inches.
- Die-cut letters from red and green polka dot patterned paper with the Be Bold Color Block Merry Christmas letter die.
- Place letters into die and tape together on the back.
- Die-cut background pieces from kraft polka dot patterned paper.
- Tape kraft pieces into the letters working from the center towards the sides.
- Adhere assembly to card base.
- Die-cut “Merry” sentiment from Snowdrift cardstock. Adhere to card center with foam adhesive.
- Die-cut snowflakes from Snowdrift cardstock using the Chill Bear, Holiday Decorations, and Silent Night Glue to card base.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you have seen that the Be Bold Color Block Merry Christmas die set can be assembled several ways and that with embellishments and paper choices, the look can easily be changed.

Unbelievable! Just love the bright glittery card! Love your reference to Robert Indiana, I learned something today. Looks cool how some of the letters are laid over the edges of others. Great die set and what a great way to inspire us all!
