Spring into Glimmer Collection Inspiration with Natasha Vacca
Hi, my name is Natasha Vacca and I am so excited to be a guest designing on the Spellbinders blog today! I have had an amazing time working with the new release – Spring into Glimmer Collection. I fell in love with everything in this new collection and it was a pure joy to work with! You can also find me on my personal blog. I would love it if you stopped by there too!
Glimmer Edge Butterflies
For my first card I am using 3 new glimmer die sets from this beautiful collection: Glimmer Edge Butterflies, Glimmer Be Bold Sentiments, and Glimmer Edge Flowers. I love combining sets! I started by selecting my colored cardstocks, I chose a pink and teal color combo for this card. I set up my Spellbinders Glimmer machine and had a lot of fun foiling! I used foil from the Essentials Metallics Variety pack. I foiled 3 butterflies, as well as leaf images, and a bold sentiment. I then die-cut each of these using the coordinating dies included in the set. I also die-cut a second butterfly to place underneath each of the foiled butterflies.
Once all the images were foiled and die-cut I started to work on my background. I used the Spellbinders Plaid Company Embossing Folder and once dry embossed I trimmed the panel with the Essentials Rectangle die. Next, I die cut some white leaves from both the Mini Blooms & Sprigs and the Simply Perfect Layered Blooms.
To complete the card I adhered the embossed background panel to an A2 card base. Then I adhered all the foiled images using foam adhesive and liquid glue. I added the sentiment and floral images and my card is complete! I fell in love with these butterflies! They are so gorgeous!

Glimmer Edge Flowers
For my second card, I am using the Glimmer Edge Flowers as the main focal point for my card. I started my second card by choosing my color scheme for my card. I chose a deep maroon, navy blue, and peach. Then I worked on doing all the foiling! These Glimmer Edge Flowers are just beautiful! I used Matte Gold Foil for today’s project. I foiled the flowers, the butterflies, leaves, as well as the sentiment. Once everything was foiled, I die-cut all the images with the coordinating dies included in the set. Then I adhered the floral images together using liquid glue and set them aside.
Next, I started to work on my background. I used the Spellbinders Sun rays Embossing Folder for my background. I embossed a card panel using my platinum and then trimmed the panel using the essential rectangles die.
To complete the card I adhered the embossed background panel to an A2 card base. Then I adhered all the foiled images using foam adhesive and liquid glue. I added the sentiment and floral images and my card is complete! I love these bold flowers! They are so pretty!

Foiled Birthday Card
For my 3rd card, I had so much fun creating a foiled birthday card! I used several glimmer sets in this collection to create today’s card! I started by doing all my foiling, using Champagne foil. I foiled the Glimmer Edge Butterflies, Flowers, Sentiment Banner, as well as the Scattered Dot Pattern. Once everything was foiled, I die-cut images using the coordinating dies and set these aside.
Next, I die-cut flowers from the Mini Blooms and Sprigs collection. I then adhered the floral images together and added a gem to the center. Then I trimmed the Scattered Dot Pattern with the Essential Rectangles die set.
To complete the card I worked on the card layout. I adhered the dot background to an A2 card base. Next, I adhered the sentiment banners to the card panel. I love these sentiment banners – they are just so beautiful! I used a combination of liquid glue and foam tape. I then adhered the flowers, leaves, and butterfly. This completes my 3rd card.

Are there classes on how to use the foils & stamps. It really looks interesting, but I don’t know where to begin!

Bought the glimmer foil machine, used it one time, plugged the plate in to warm up for the next die and it quit. The lights went off and I haven’t got it to warm up again. Tried reaching out to the company thru texts and calling so far I haven’t gotten a response. I love this idea and have bought the platinum die cutter and lots of dies to use with the Glimmer machine and now nothing. A little help would be appreciated . Gloria Clark (Ougot2@verizon.net

(The Boot Camp is very well done, instructive and full of great tips.) Natasha, these makes are so lovely and I very much enjoyed following your narrative too. The “Thank You” card is my favorite I love how you used the background leaves in same cardstock as the card base and then overlayed them with the foiled branches. I look forward to see your next submission!

This is so beautiful Yana. What sentiment is that?
Yana Smakula
