Happy Dance Collection 3 Ways with Debby van Diepen

Hello all, this is Debby van Diepen from the Netherlands and I am excited to be on the blog today. I want to share three cards using the new Happy Dance Collection. This is a beautiful Collection full of die cuts, sentiment stamps, and hot foil sentiments. This collection is also perfect to create projects for Mother’s day or Fathers day.

Let’s Dance Fathers Day Card

The Happy Dance collection is full of dies that are perfect to create masculine cards with. When you think of a masculine card, you might think of blue color tones. I wanted to show that pastel colors can word great for a masculine card as well.

  • Die-cut the rosette die out of three pastel-colored cardstocks. I used yellow, blue and pink.
  • Stamp the ‘best dad’ sentiment from Spellbinders We All Dance Sentiments stamp set on the blue rosette, with black ink.
  • Heat emboss the #1 sentiment from Spellbinders We All Dance Sentiments stamp set on the yellow and pink rosette. Heat emboss them with gold embossing powder.
  • Die-cut the three gnomes from Spellbinders Dancin’ Gnome die set out of the same cardstocks used for the rosettes, as well as with white and off-white cardstock. Glue the pieces together. Add a little white pom pom at the top of the hats. It gives such a fun effect.
  • Create a card front with a soft natural color. Make sure there will be a border on your card base.
  • Arrange the three rosettes on your card front in the middle, from top to bottom. Also, arrange the gnomes on your card front. This way you can see how you want to place the pieces.
  • When you are happy with the arrangement, you can use double-sided foam tape to tape the pieces in place.
  • Place the card front on your white card base with double-sided foam tape.
  • Now you can cut off the overhanging bits of your gnomes following your card base edge.
  • For extra detail glue a few clear droplets on your card front.

I Dance Card

This Spellbinders I Dance die set is perfect to create Mothers day cards with. There is also a fun coffee cup die. In the Spellbinders We All Dance Sentiments stamp set there are matching stamps that are made for the fun I Dance dies. For this card, I used them to create a thank you card. I also liked to use colors that give the card a retro look. The skirt of the girl gave me the 80’s look feel.
