Flea Market Finds Collection by Cathe Holden – Card Inspiration with Annie Williams

Hi there, this is Annie Williams and I’m thrilled to be back on the blog today to share a couple of projects using the new Flea Market Finds Collection by Cathe Holden.  The beautiful florals and bright vintage designs in this collection inspired me to create three pretty cards perfect for staying in touch with loved ones.

Bright & Feminine

I loved the vintage floral components in this collection because, unlike the many other vintage designs I’m used to seeing, these are bright and feminine. Here I added a few die-cut flowers to accent one of my favorite ephemera pieces from the Reward of Merit Miscellany set.

  • Trim a piece of patterned paper from the Blue Green Palette Sampler paper pad to 4.125” x 5.375” and mat it with Cosmic Blue Cardstock before adhering it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with a tape runner.
  • Add one of the border stickers from the Etiquettes sticker pad to Cosmic Sky Cardstock, trim it to 1.25” x 5.375”, and adhere it to the card front with a tape runner.
  • Trim the floral die-cut from the Reward of Merit Miscellany set down to 3” x 4”, mat it with Cosmic Sky Cardstock, and pop it up on top of the card front with foam adhesive.
  • Stamp a sentiment from the Miscellany Words Stamp Set onto Cosmic Sky Cardstock with Watermark Ink, add white embossing powder, and melt with the heat tool.
  • Trim the sentiment out into a small strip and pop it up on top of the card front with foam adhesive.
  • Die-cut Pink Sand, Wild Berry, Raindrop, and Rainforest Cardstock with the Mini Blooms & Sprigs Die Set.
  • Add the flowers around the sentiment with liquid glue and foam adhesive.
  • Embellish the flower centers with Crystal Mix Gems.

Peaceful Log Cabin

Next, I wanted to create a pretty card for a loved one using that gorgeous, peaceful log cabin scene from the Reward of Merit Miscellany set.

  • Trim a piece of patterned paper from the Blue Green Palette Sampler paper pad to 4.125” x 5.375”.
  • Add one of the border stickers from the Etiquettes sticker pad across the center of the patterned paper and trim off any excess.
  • Mat the background with Alabaster Cardstock and adhere it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with a tape runner.
  • Trim the second piece of patterned paper from the pad to 3” x 5” and adhere it to the card front with a tape runner.
  • Stamp the oval from the Fancy Labels Stamp Set and a sentiment from the Miscellany Words Stamp Set onto Alabaster Cardstock using Versafine Clair Acorn Ink.
  • Trim the image out with scissors and blend a little Vintage Photo Distress Ink around the edges with a sponge dauber.
  • Pop the log cabin die-cut from the Reward of Merit Miscellany pack onto the card front using foam adhesive and add a few small designs from the Etiquettes sticker pad behind it.
  • Add a floral sticker and the sentiment to the corners of the scene with foam adhesive.
  • Embellish with light blue pearls.

Layered Vintage Floral Stencil

Lastly, I wanted to create a simple and pretty card for a friend using the beautiful Layered Vintage Floral Stencil Set.

  • Trim a piece of Alabaster Cardstock to 3.75” x 5”.
  • Stencil the floral design onto the cardstock panel using the Layered Vintage Floral Stencil Set and Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn, Shaded Lilac, Wilted Violet, Salty Ocean, Blueprint Sketch, Kitsch Flamingo, Festive Berries, Squeezed Lemonade, and Carved Pumpkin Distress Oxide Inks.
  • Use the darker shade of each color to deepen the inside of the flowers and leaves.
  • Stamp a frame from the Fancy Labels Stamp Set and a sentiment from the Miscellany Words Stamp Set onto Alabaster Cardstock using Festive Berries Distress Oxide Ink.
  • Trim the sentiment out with a pair of scissors.
  • Trim a piece of patterned paper from the Florals Palette Sampler paper pad to 4.25” x 5.5” and adhere it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with a tape runner.
  • Wrap a strand of natural jute twine around the stenciled panel, tie a bow on the left side, and adhere the panel to the card front with foam adhesive.
  • Pop the sentiment up next to the bow with more foam adhesive.
