Sweet Bird Ideas With Michelle Short and Just Wanted to Say Collection

Hello there, Michelle Short here to share some inspiration using the new Just Wanted to Say Collection. This a fantastic collection that is perfect for all occasions. As you will see from my projects, I fell in love with the sweet birds in the collection!

They are so versatile and a lot of fun to put together – you can add all of the layers or not, and think of the different color combinations you can use!

JUST WANTED TO SAY HI

I started off by die-cutting Stitched Hi from Snowdrift Cardstock twice and adhered them together for stability. I stitched the flowers using blue thread from Color Essentials Cool DMC Floss Bundle. The letters were adhered to the shadow, cut from Chamomile Cardstock, using thin foam tape.

I die cut Little Chickadee from Snowdrift, Graphite, Glacier, Raindrop, Cosmic Sky and Chamomile Cardstock. The pieces were assembled and adhered with Bearly Art Glue and a black pearl was added for his eye. I then ran a piece of cardstock through the Platinum 6 with Diamond Plaid Embossing Folder and adhered it to an A2 white card base.

The ‘hi’ was added on top, followed by the bird with foam squares. The sentiment from Just Wanted to Say Glimmer was foiled onto Cosmic Sky Cardstock with Silver Foil, cut into a strip, and added to the card. To finish off, I added Silver Mix Color Essential Gems.

CONGRATULATIONS TAG

This collection is also perfect for tags, so I thought I would create a little congratulations tag that can be used for lots of different occasions – new home, new baby etc. I die cut Little Chickadee again, this time from Snowdrift, Purple Mist, Lilac Blossom, Royal Amethyst, and Beeswax Cardstock. I added a black pearl for his eye.

I decided to keep the feet off this one and have him perch on the sentiment, which is from Just Wanted to Say Sentiments. It was stamped onto Onyx Cardstock with Clear Embossing & Watermark Ink. I applied White Embossing Powder and heat set. It was cut into a strip. I die-cut Leafy Sprig from Peridot and Rainforest Cardstock and adhered them together.

I die cut the tag from Create a Decorative Tag and adhered Leafy Sprig first with Bearly Art Glue. The sentiment was adhered with thin foam tape and the bird adhered on top with foam squares. To finish off, I added Journey Twine Black through the top and tied in a bow and to embellish, Prism AB Color Essential Gems.

THANKS WREATH

My last card today uses the Wreath Builder Dies. These can be used in lots of different ways. I cut the sprigs shorter so that I could have a small wreath, but you could make much larger ones if you wanted.

The sprigs were die cut first from Peridot and Rainforest Cardstock. I die-cut the flowers from Beeswax and Persimmon Cardstock. The flower centers were cut from Chamomile and Beeswax. They were layered up first and then arranged into a wreath onto an A2 white card base using Bearly Art Glue.

Sweet Birdie was die cut from Snowdrift, Graphite, Pink Sand, Dahlia, Wild Berry, and Beeswax Cardstock. The pieces were adhered together with Bearly Art Glue and a black pearl was added for her eye. She was adhered to the wreath with Foam Squares. The sentiment, from Just Wanted to Say Glimmer, was foiled onto white cardstock with Champagne Foil. It was cut into a strip and added to the card with more foam squares. To finish off, I added Gold Mix Color Essential Gems.
