Christmas Flourish Cards Inspiration with Sandi MacIver

Hi card makers and welcome back. It’s Sandi MacIver here and I’m excited to be back with another post for you. I’m creating with the new Christmas Flourish Collection from Beeca Feeken. There are seven new die sets and a fabulous embossing folder in this release full of Christmas images and sentiments to inspire you in your holiday cardmaking.

I picked my three favorites and created cards in a traditional color scheme to share with you today. My Colors are Phone Booth, Portabello, White, Rainforest, Fern, and some Mirror Gold for highlights.

The coordinating Holly Flourish Embossing Folder released in this set is the new 5.50 x 8.50 versatile 2D Embossing Folders which can be used to create various sizes from A2, 5 x 7, up to a full sized slimline.  For the most detailed impression, lightly mist the cardstock on both sides with water before embossing.

Start with a white card base 7-1/2 x 8-3/4, score and fold the 7-1/2 side at 3-3/4 to create the card base. Next, use the two larger slimline dies to cut the Phone Booth Red Mat, then the smaller slimline die to cut out the Portabello card front.

Then, place the Portabello card front into the Holly Flourish Embossing Folder and run through the Platinum 6 Die Cutting Machine. Finally, use a blending brush to add Frayed Burlap over the embossed design to highlight it.

Next, cut the outline ornaments and the hanging string in Mirror Gold. Use the same outline die to cut white backers.  Glue together and attach to the card front. Then, use the small holly dies from the Noel Mini Slimline Frame Die Set and cut the holly leaves from Rainforest adding them to both ornaments

Finally, Die cut the word Noel 3 times, stack and attach to the center top of the card, with another holly bundle under the left side. Then, embellish with Gold Smooth Disc Color Essentials Sequins

Then, use the large flourish dies from the Joy Flourish Doily Collection to cut the Portabello background piece and the white flourish piece.  Glue together and then use foam squares to attach to the center front of the card.

Finally, cut out all the little bird pieces from red gold and white card stock pieces. Also, cut the holly and use it to decorate the birds and the top and bottom of the center flourish piece. Embellish with the Red Color Essential Gems.
