Joyful Christmas Cards with Marie Nicole
Hello, crafty friends! Marie here again from Marie Nicole Designs. I’m sharing some festive Christmas cards featuring the Joyful Christmas collection by Simon Hurley and Spellbinders.
This is a fun collection that includes the cutest die set featuring a reindeer head, some beautiful glimmer plates, and clever background dies! I tried to incorporate all of these items together in today’s cards.
Season’s Greetings Reindeer Card
For my first card, I went right to cutting and assembling that cute reindeer. I cut all the pieces out of white cardstock, including all the little flowers and branches. I then used different colors on ink to blend onto the cardstock to color it the desired colors.
I then made the background by cutting out the diagonal stripes and gluing it to my white cardstock. The white-on-white creates an interesting background without being overpowering to the rest of the card.
I then glimmered the background glimmer plate and cut a circle for layering. I added the reindeer and arranged lots of branches, leaves and flowers around it. Then, I added the sentiment that I glimmered from this Joyful Christmas collection.
Merry Christmas Glimmered Ornaments Card
My second card I created by again cutting the diagonal stripe background. This time, I cut it twice using two colors of glitter paper. I flipped one of the backgrounds so that the stripes would run the opposite way, and then layered them together onto a white cardstock base.
I then glimmered the ornaments and cut them out with the coordinating die. Then, I nestled the ornaments back into the top half of the cardstock I cut them out of, and adhered it to the top half of my card. This left the bottom of the ornaments cut out while the top half is lining the top portion of the card.
Again, I used one of the glimmered sentiments from the collection to finish off this card!
Joy to the World Geo Snowflake Card
My third card was made using the leftover bits from my first two cards. I always like to save scraps and pieces in case I can use them again. I grabbed the glimmered panel that I cut a circle from for my first card, and I added some ink blending over the foiling to make a deep red.
Then, I glued the strips of glitter cardstock that came from the diagonal striped background from the second card into the middle of the circle cut-out. After I did those two steps, I added more flowers and branches left over from my reindeer card, and a glimmered sentiment.
So easy to pull together these three beautiful cards using all these items together!
I hope you enjoyed today’s cards! If you ever want to see more cards and creations from me, you can find me at my blog, Marie Nicole Designs.
Until next time,
Marie Nicole
