Showered With Love Clean & Simple Card Ideas
Hello there, Michelle Short here to share some inspiration using the Showered With Love Collection by Vicky Papaioannou. This is such a fun collection that can be used for lots of different occasions – love, get well, thinking of you, encouragement, and lots more!
THINKING OF YOU
I am using Umbrella Bloom for my first card, which is such a beautiful set! I cut the umbrella from Waterfall and Brushed Silver Cardstock and added a little ink blending to the aqua pieces with Peacock Feathers Distress Ink for added interest. I then cut the leaves from Peridot and Rainforest Cardstock.
The flowers were cut from Pink Sand, Wild Berry, and Chamomile Cardstock. I took a panel of white cardstock and masked off the bottom edges. Using Blending Brushes, I blended on Picked Raspberry Distress Ink and then splattered it with white gouache before removing the tape and setting it aside to dry.
The panel adhered to an A2 white card base and then the umbrella and flowers were adhered on top using Bearly Art Glue. I took the sentiment from I’ve Got You Covered and stamped it onto black cardstock using Clear Embossing & Watermark Ink. I applied White Embossing Powder and heat set. It was cut into a strip and added to the card. To finish off, I added Pink Color Essentials Gems.
UNDER THE WEATHER
For my second project, I wanted to create a tag that I thought could be sent to someone to put a smile on their face when they are not feeling well. I started off by die-cutting Duck with Umbrella from Beeswax, Persimmon, Snowdrift and Lilac Blossom Cardstock. The umbrella handle was cut from Brushed Silver.
The layers were adhered together using Bearly Art Glue and I added an Onyx Color Essentials Gem to the duck for his eye. I die-cut a tag from white cardstock and embossed it using the Raindrops 3D Embossing Folder.
I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment from I’ve Got You Covered and adhered it to the tag with thin foam tape. The duck adhered on top with thin foam tape too. To finish off, I added Black Cord through the top of the tag and tied it in a bow.
HELLO SUNSHINE
My final project for today uses Rain or Shine. I die cut the cloud, rainbow, and sun all from white cardstock twice (I cut the clouds four times for two finished clouds). I added ink blending to the sun and rainbow pieces (just one layer) using Distress Inks. They then adhered to the non-inked pieces for added dimension.
I took a panel of white cardstock and ran it through my Platinum 6 with the Head in the Clouds Embossing Folder. It was adhered to an A2 white card base with thin foam tape. The sun was adhered first, followed by the rainbow using thin foam tape, and then the clouds.
I heat embossed the sentiment from I’ve Got You Covered onto black cardstock, cut it into a strip, and added it to the card with more foam tape. To finish off, I added clear droplet embellishments.
