The Painter’s Garden Paper Flowers Inspiration

Hello, crafty friends!! Brenda Noelke here from My PaperCut Creations! I’m super excited to be guest posting on the Spellbinders blog again today! I am sharing three cards using The Painter’s Garden Collection designed by Susan Tierney-Cockburn!!! If you know me, you know how much I LOVE flowers, so this collection is right up my alley!!

PANSY CONGRATULATIONS CARD

My first card features the beautiful Pansy Dies!!

I started by die-cutting the Pansy Die Set from white cardstock. I Googled pansy photos and chose some beautiful blue ones to try to replicate. I colored them with Copic markers and used Susan’s Garden Ultimate Tool Kit to add texture and dimension to the petals and leaves. I adhered all of the individual flowers together with liquid glue. I also added some You Had Me At Yellow Prills to the centers of the pansies.

The background panel was embossed onto white cardstock with the Bamboo Trellis 3D Embossing Folder. It was trimmed slightly and adhered to an A2 panel of Raindrop Cardstock, then a white card base. The sentiment is from the Garden Favorite Sentiments Stamp Set. It was white heat embossed onto Onyx Cardstock and trimmed into a narrow strip. The flowers and leaves were adhered with liquid glue, while the sentiment was popped up with foam tape.

GERBERA DAISY BIRTHDAY CARD

My second card features the Gerbera Daisy and Ladybugs Dies. Gerbera daisies are one of my favorite flowers, so I love this set and will get plenty of use out of it!!

I die-cut all of the petals and leaves for this one using the Susan’s Garden Specialty Cardstock and the Gerbera Daisy and Ladybugs Die Set. I colored these with Copic markers, as well, but you could also blend them with ink or sprays. I used Susan’s Garden Ultimate Tool Kit to add texture and dimension to the petals and leaves. I adhered all of the floral elements together using liquid glue and added You Had Me At Yellow Prills to the centers.

The background was embossed onto white cardstock with the same Bamboo Trellis 3D Embossing Folder as my first card. The sentiment, also from the Garden Favorites Sentiments Set, was white heat embossed onto Onyx Cardstock and fussy cut. The daisies were adhered with liquid glue and the sentiment adhered with tiny bits of foam adhesive.

Zinnia THINKING OF YOU CARD

My final card showcases the Zinnia Die Set.

I die-cut the flowers layers and leaves for this card from colored cardstock. I used Royal Amethyst, Lilac Blossom and Purple Mist for the petals, Peridot for the stamen, and Fern for the leaves then added dimension with Susan’s Garden Ultimate Tool Kit. I adhered all of the flowers together as I did the first two cards, with liquid glue.

The background for this one was embossed onto white cardstock with the January 2023 Embossing Folder of the Month. The panel was trimmed slightly and adhered to a panel of Purple Mist Cardstock, then added to a white card base. The sentiment is from the Garden Favorites Stamp Set. It was white heat embossed onto Onyx Cardstock, then fussy cut. The flowers adhered with liquid glue and the sentiment was popped up with foam tape.
