Memory Keeping with Cathe Holden Flea Market Collection with Angela Tombari

Hello Spellbinders friends! It’s Angela Tombari here, from I Need Confetti blog and today I would like to share with you my scrapbooking projects I created with the beautiful new release Flea Market Finds Collection by Cathe Holden.

12×12 Scrapbook Layout

The collection consists of papers, stickers, die cuts, stamps, and fun metal dies too, all that I usually use for creating a scrapbook page. Then, the first project I decided to make is a traditional 12 x 12 in scrapbooking layout.

I was particularly attracted by the tiny envelopes dies that come in the collection. They are so cute! So, I cut twelve envelopes, one for each color of paper included in the Petite Patterns paper pad.

I grabbed a white cardstock for the background and I arranged all the assembled envelopes on top of the cardstock, in rainbow order. Before adhering them, I colored the cardstock with Distress Oxides inks in the same/similar colors as the envelopes.

I glued all the envelopes on the card stock and I embellished the page using the die cut of the collection.

To incorporate the photo onto the page, I left one of the envelopes open and placed the photo inside. I intentionally printed the photo in black and white to avoid it competing with the colors of the composition.

Last, I added a few stamps and crystal jewels and voilà!

Traveler’s Notebook Spread

My second project is always a memory-keeping one but in a different size. It’s a Traveler’s Notebook spread.

Here, I used the paper pad called Florals 2 Palette. It’s a gorgeous collection of floral patterns that reminds me of old embroidery and traditional stitching from the past.

I love stitching and this is why I tried to incorporate some stitching on the floral paper, making some flower details pop.

Since the paper is thin, maximum care is requested when stitching. To avoid tearing, I have a tip for you. Adhere a few strips of washi tape on the reverse side of the paper. It will make the paper stronger and also make the stitching more stable.

The opposite page of the TN is the one with the photo. I glued one strip of the same floral paper on the side and a few die cuts. I added a layer of pretty stamps and the page is done!

Card with a Gift

The last project is a card, a special card that contains a gift.

I used again one of the papers from Florals 2 Palette paper pad as a base of the card.

One of the die cuts of the collection is a cover of a composition book. It’s adorable! I had the idea to make a real book out of it!

The book is glued onto the front of the card and it’s closed with a silk ribbon. To create the pages of the book, I folded a strip of red paper and on each page, I added a vertical envelope. I used one of the vertical envelop die of the collection.

I decided to cut the envelope out of vellum because I liked the inside to be visible. This is because the envelopes contain the gift. In fact, inside each envelope, there is a beautiful old stamp for my friend to collect.
