Spring is Coming with Jennifer Rustioni
Hi everyone! This is Jennifer Rustioni from @armieritagli! I’m very excited to be back as a guest on the Spellbinders Blog! Today I share with you the projects I realized featuring the new beautiful Stampendous Spring Collection! I really long for the warm season to come and these stamps smell just like spring, don’t you think?
SWEET SONG
For my first card, I chose to realize a little watercolor illustration, featuring the super cute Sweet Song Stamp Set! I trimmed a piece of watercolor paper 100% cotton and stamped on it the bird and the flowers (I stamped only the small flowers) with the Distress Oxide Antique Linen, to have a no-line effect. Then, I drew the branch with a graphite pencil. I started realizing the background with the Daniel Smith Extra Fine Watercolors using the wet-on-wet technique, to give a blurry effect.
After that, I colored the bird, the flowers, and the branch. I realized the shadows with Prismacolor Premier Colored Pencils, to give more definition to the subjects in the foreground. At last, I added the highlights and the details with a white gel pen.
HELLO BUTTERFLY
The second project I created is featuring the amazing Hello Butterfly Stamp Set. I stamped the flowers and the butterfly on watercolor paper with the Distress Oxide Antique Linen to have, one again, a no-line effect. I colored the flowers and the butterfly using the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Watercolor markers. I added a touch of a gold watercolor on the butterfly’s wings to give it more deifinition.
After that, I realized some color splashes on the flowers and on the butterfly as well. I used the sentiment from the Hummingbird Day Stamp Set and stamped it on the right of my card with black ink. At last, I added some Champagne Smooth Discs at my card and matted it with black card stock.
HUMMINGBIRD DAY
The last card I created is featuring the super sweet Hummingbird Day Stamp Set. I stamped the two hummingbirds with the Memento Ink Pad Rich Cocoa on the Transotype Perfect Colouring Paper. I colored them with Copic Markers (you can find the shades of colors I used in the supplies list below).
I increased the shadows with a black pastel pencil and then added the highlights with a white gel pen. I trimmed the sentiment from a sheet of the Quick Cards Hope of Spring and glued it at the bottom of my card. At last, I matted the card with a kraft card stock.

Really love what you did with the cards overall. The part that really grabbed me was how you did the coloring. Would you mind emailing me the colored markers, and any other items you used for coloring, that would really help. That way I know exactly where to find them… Thank you for sharing your beautiful work.
