Vibrant Aquatic Cards Featuring Seahorse Kisses Collection with Emily Leiphart
Hello, crafty friends! It’s Emily Leiphart here and I’m thrilled to be guesting on the Spellbinders blog, featuring the Seahorse Kisses Collection by Dawn Woleslagle.
I’m a long-time fan of Dawn’s artistry and jumped at the chance to work with her first collection for Spellbinders. I love the aquatic theme of Seahorse Kisses and the beautiful images and sentiments. I chose five colors, plus gold, to feature on all three of these cards using all five sets from this collection.
You Are Simply Amazing Jellyfish Card
My first card features a simple design featuring the Seahorse Kisses Sentiments, which I heat foiled with Matte Gold Hot Foil before using the Cast Away 3D Embossing Folder across both the center Glacier panel and the Fern base panel.
I also used Matte Gold Hot Foil on doll pink, Peridot, and Teal Topaz cardstock to create these beautiful jellyfish from Under the Sea. After assembling the layers, I popped on the jellyfish with foam squares.
All three panels, including the Mirror Gold frame, were cut using the Precision Layering A2 A Etched Dies and Precision Layering A2 B Etched Dies.
Ocean of Thanks Card
My second card features the two small fish from Under the Sea which I think are the cutest! I also used Matte Gold Hot Foil on Glacier and Fern cardstock to add even more color to this “ocean” of fish.
To create the base panel, I die-cut it from the Precision Layering A2 A Etched Dies, then heat foiled the two sentiments together from Seahorse Floral using Matte Gold Hot Foil.
Whereas I used the Cast Away 3D Embossing Folder in its original orientation on the first card, I turned it 90 degrees on this landscape card. As always, the large 5.5” x 8.5” size of Spellbinders embossing folders allows for so many creative uses.
Seahorse Garden Card
For my last card, I could’ve easily used the remaining hot-foiled images in this same design but I wanted to color the images from the Seahorse Garden Stamp & Die Set. I used Zig clean color real brush markers in colors that coordinate with all the colors on the two previous cards.
After using the Precision Layering A2 A Etched Dies to cut the base panel from doll pink cardstock, I used the middle two Essential Duo Lines Glimmer Rectangles with Matte Gold Hot Foil to create the inner frame.
I stamped the sentiment from the Seahorse Garden Stamp & Die Set using black pigment ink and glued the bottom-most images around the edge of the panel. I used glue dots to attach the other images for a bit of dimension. Then I popped on the seahorse and the closest flowers with foam squares.
I hope you enjoyed this vibrant trio of aquatic cards! For more inspiration, please visit my blog, YouTube channel, and Instagram page @emily.leiphart. Thanks so much for stopping by!
