Floral Friendship Collection – Easy Spring Cards with Annie Williams
Hi there, this is Annie Williams and I’m excited to be back on the blog today to share a couple of projects using the new Floral Friendship Collection from Spellbinders. The soft floral patterns, gorgeous die-cut elements, and fun embellishments in this collection inspired me to create three pretty springtime cards for different occasions.
Floral Thank You Card
The sweet bird patterned paper in the Floral Friendship paper pad caught my eye first, so I grabbed some golden die-cut flowers and mixed them with a bit of texture for this soft and pretty thank you card.
I started by trimming a piece of patterned paper from the Floral Friendship Paper Pad to 4.125” x 5.375”, matted it with Mirror Gold Cardstock, and adhered it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base. Then I embossed a piece of Barely Peach Cardstock measuring about 3” x 4” with the Tile Reflection 3D Embossing Folder, matted it with Mirror Gold Cardstock, and adhered it to the center of the card front with foam adhesive.
I chose a pretty greeting from the Floral Friendship Printed Die-cut Sentiments Pack and started to arrange my flowers and leaves from the Floral Friendship Printed Die-cuts Pack in the lower right corner. When I was satisfied with my arrangement, I adhered everything down with a mix of liquid glue and foam adhesive for tons of dimension.
Butterfly Frame Card
The Dimensional Butterfly Stickers are such a pretty and unique embellishment, I had to use these next. Here I added them to a bright floral frame scene to create this fun hello card for a friend.
I started by trimming a piece of patterned paper from the Floral Friendship Paper Pad to 4” x 5.25”, matted it with Mirror Gold Cardstock, and adhered it to my card base. Then I added another piece of patterned paper behind one of the frames from the Chipboard Frames Pack and adhered the whole thing to the center of the card.
I covered the frame on three sides with tons of watercolor flowers and leaves from the die-cut shapes pack and added two of the Dimensional Butterfly Stickers on top. To finish off the card, I popped a die-cut sentiment up in the top corner and added a few Gold Mix Gems for a little sparkle.
Floral Bird Card
Lastly, I wanted to create a pretty floral card for a friend using one of the beautiful bird die-cuts from the collection.
After trimming a piece of patterned paper from the paper pad to 4.125” x 5.375”, I adhered to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with a tape runner. Then I cut white cardstock and another pattern from the paper pad using one of the dies from the Essential Floral Reflection Die Set. Cutting the white die-cut in half, I adhered the two pieces behind the top and bottom of the patterned paper die-cut, allowing it to peek out a bit for a subtle shadow.
Once the background was complete, I arranged some of the printed die-cuts in the lower left corner of the card and adhered them down with a mix of liquid glue and foam adhesive. A simple die-cut sentiment and a few of those gorgeous Iridescent Gemstones finish off this simple and pretty card.
