Country Road Collection Introduction with Annie Williams

Hi there crafty friends, this is Annie Williams and I’m so excited to introduce my new collection with Spellbinders called Country Road. This collection is inspired by rural Pennsylvania, a place my family now calls home after many years of moving from city to city to pursue my education and career in science.  When we traded busy city streets for rolling country roads, I was struck by the beautiful gardens and entryways my friends and neighbors spent countless hours building to create the warm and welcoming community around me.

There are five products in this collection – four die sets and a stamp and die set. Each set was carefully designed with versatility in mind and to work with all of the other sets in the collection. My hope is that you’ll find yourself inspired to use this suite of products to create projects for different occasions and seasons all year long!

Country Wheelbarrow Die Set

The Country Wheelbarrow Die Set allows you to create a generously-sized, Amish-style wheelbarrow and fill it with the seasonal décor of your choosing. Details like the fine woodgrain embossing on the body of the wheelbarrow add to its realism.

And just like the real thing, the sideboards are removable to form a flatbed wheelbarrow as well. Add fillers from the Garden Builder Die Set or the Seasonal Décor Die Set to complement the occasion you’re creating for or roll your wheelbarrow into a scene with elements from the Rustic Garden or Welcome Sign & Sentiments sets.

Rustic Garden Die Set

The Rustic Garden Die Set includes all the dies you need to build a beautiful country garden scene –a wagon wheel, barrel, birdhouse, water pump, and split-rail fencing.  Add plants and flowers from the Garden Builder Die Set for a pretty spring or summer scene or hang an icon from the Seasonal Décor Die Set on the fence for a fun holiday card.  Cut the barrel in half and fill it with greenery to create a pretty planter or hang floral sprigs on the wagon wheel for a fun take on a wreath.  The rustic elements in this set are great for autumn cards or western-themed projects as well.

Welcome Sign & Sentiments Stamp & Die Set

The Welcome Sign & Sentiments Stamp & Die Set might be my favorite set in the collection because of its versatility.  Fourteen dies allow you to create a gorgeous country welcome sign in a variety of styles and also add one of six decorative inlay designs.  The stamp set is chock full of sentiments, many of which can be mixed and matched to cover nearly any occasion you’re creating for.  Additional decorative icons can be stamped onto the top of the sign for even more options.  Create a card featuring the welcome sign as a focal point and decorate the post with seasonal or garden décor, or add it to the Rustic Garden scene as a background element with a fun secondary sentiment.

Garden Builder Die Set

The Garden Builder Die Set includes tons of different floral and leaf elements that can be used to create a many-layered garden scene or even build a wreath.  The hosta provides a low-lying clumpy element to contrast with the taller floral sprigs and berry branches.  We’ve included many different flower petals and centers to give you tons of options, and wheat and pine elements for autumn and winter projects.  Add any combination of garden elements from this set to the wheelbarrow, rustic garden, or welcome sign scenes for even more options.  A scruffy barn cat will help complete any garden scene.

Seasonal Décor Die Set

Lastly, I wanted to make sure we added seasonal elements to the collection that were sized and configured correctly to fit in with all of the other sets.  The Seasonal Décor Die Set allows you to fill the wheelbarrow with fresh summer veggies or autumn pumpkins, hang a patriotic barn star on the split-rail fence, or lean an Easter egg or holiday gift against the welcome signpost.  These holiday accents can also be used on their own to create patterns for backgrounds or small groupings for a focal point on cards.
