Creating Easy and Elegant Cards with the Timeless Collection
Hi there, this is Annie Williams and I’m excited to be back on the blog today to share a couple of simple, yet elegant cards made with the new Timeless Collection from Spellbinders. The ornate designs and beautiful heartfelt sentiments in this collection are easy to mix and match and I was inspired to create three pretty cards with them for different occasions.
Soft & Pretty Sympathy Card
I took a quick trip to the beach recently and was intrigued by all of the beautiful colors that complemented the soft tones of the sand. Afterward, I pulled out several sandy colors of cardstock and paired them with different pops of colors to mix with the beautiful designs in this collection. When I saw the Timeless 5×7 Cardfront Die Set, I knew it would be perfect for a sympathy card, so I kept the “pops of color” soft and subtle.
Die cut Alabaster Cardstock once and white cardstock twice using the Cardfront Outline Die from the Timeless 5×7 Cardfront Die Set. Score one of the white die-cuts at 0.5” from the top and adhere it to the other white die-cut with liquid glue (only on that top 0.5” flap) to create a shaped card base. Die-cut Latte Cardstock using the Frame Insert Dies and adhere to the Alabaster die-cut with liquid glue before adding to the card base with a tape runner.
Die cut Dune Cardstock using the Oval Frame Die and Latte Cardstock using the Oval Frame Insert Die, adhere together with liquid glue, and pop it up in the center of the card with foam adhesive. Press a sentiment from the Always You Timeless Sentiments Press Plate Set onto Alabaster Cardstock using Bark BetterPress Ink and the BetterPress System and cut it out with the Label Insert Die before popping it up in the center of the card with foam adhesive. To finish off the card, die cut Peach Sorbet, Barely Peach, and Sage Cardstock using flower and leaf dies from the Be Bold Blooms Die Set and adhere around the oval before adding Gold Mix Gems to embellish.
Elegant Birthday Card
The Timeless Hearts Border Die Set is such a pretty design and works great on its own or paired with other dies from the collection. Here I added two bold heart borders around the pretty oval design from the Timeless 5×7 Cardfront Die Set for a fun birthday card for a friend.
Die cut Velvet Rose Cardstock twice using the Border Insert Die from the Timeless Hearts Border Die Set. Adhere the die-cut to the edge of Crimson Cardstock with liquid glue and die cut one side of the layered design using the Border Outline Die. Trim a piece of Dune Cardstock to 4.125” x 5.375”, emboss it with the Tiny Dots Embossing Folder, mat it with Latte Cardstock, and adhere it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with tape runner.
Add the border die-cuts to each side of the card front with foam adhesive and trim off any overhanging bits with scissors. Die cut Alabaster Cardstock using the Oval Frame Die and Dune Cardstock using the Oval Frame Insert Die, adhere together with liquid glue, and pop it up in the center of the card with foam adhesive. Press a sentiment from the Always You Timeless Sentiments Press Plate Set onto Dune Cardstock using Bark BetterPress Ink and cut it out with the Label Insert Die before popping it up in the center of the card with foam adhesive. Embellish with Gold Mix Gems.
Best Wishes Card
Lastly, I love how you can alter the look of the Timeless Duo Die Set by layering the dies or using them separately, so I thought it would be fun to add two more fun colors to my color scheme by layering them. Here I mixed in some blues with my sandy tones for an easy best wishes card.
Die cut Splash and Cosmic Sky Cardstock using the Timeless Duo Die Set and adhere together with liquid glue. Press a sentiment from the New Beginnings Timeless Sentiments Press Plate Set onto Alabaster Cardstock using Bark BetterPress Ink and cut it out with one of the Mirrored Arch Labels Dies. Adhere the blue die-cuts onto the sentiment panel, surrounding the sentiment, and ink around the edge with Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink.
Trim a piece of Dune Cardstock to 4.125” x 5.375”, emboss it using the Flowers & Foliage 3D Embossing Folder, mat it with Latte Cardstock, and adhere it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base with tape runner. Pop the sentiment panel up in the center of the card with foam adhesive and add Gold Mix Gems to embellish.
