Simple and Cute Birthday Cards with New Stamp and Dies from Simon Hurley
Hi there, this is Annie Williams and I’m excited to be back on the blog today to share a couple of cute birthday cards made with new stamps and dies by Simon Hurley. The unique images and sentiments in the collection inspired me to create two fun cards perfect for sending birthday wishes to anyone on your mailing list.
Pink Ombre Birthday Cake Card
I loved the sketchy style of the Birthday Party Stamp Set and having the solid layering stamps makes it even more fun to use! Here I stamped multiple layers of both the cake and balloon images before adding some extra touches with alcohol markers for a pretty pink ombre birthday card.
Stamp the outline images of the birthday cake and balloons from the Birthday Party Stamp Set onto white cardstock using black alcohol-friendly ink. Add pink ink to the balloons with the solid layering stamp, pink and purple inks to the cake with the icing solid stamp, and teal and yellow ink to the candle with the candle solid stamp. Using alcohol markers, add some shading to the cake and balloons, and cut the images out with the coordinating dies.
Stamp the Stippled Background Stamp and a sentiment from the Birthday Party Stamp Set onto white cardstock using Versamark Ink, add gold embossing powder, and melt with a heat tool. Blend Picked Raspberry, Kitsch Flamingo, and Spun Sugar Distress Ink down the background panel and cut it using one of the Essential Arches Dies. Emboss the front of a top-folding A2-sized white card base with the Tiny Dots Embossing Folder. Adhere the arch, colored images, and sentiment on top of the card front with several layers of foam adhesives for tons of dimension.
Cute Geese Birthday Card
How adorable are the images and sentiments in the Silly Goose Die Set?! Here I added two of the sweet birds in the set to a simple scene for this super cute birthday card for a friend.
Stamp the goose images onto white cardstock using black alcohol-friendly ink, colors the images in with Copic markers, and cut them out using the coordinating dies. Emboss a piece of Lagoon Cardstock using the Woven 3D Embossing Folder and adhere it to a top-folding A2-sized white card base.
Die-cut white cardstock using the Notched Corner Frames Dies. Add grass to the bottom of the die-cut by blending Mowed Lawn Distress Ink through the Background Scapes Stencil. Blend Salty Ocean Distress Ink around the rest of the edges of the die-cut. Stamp the sentiments from the Silly Goose Stamp Set onto the corners of the die-cut using black ink and add the panel to the center of the card front with foam adhesive. Pop the geese up on top with more foam adhesive.
